lol... I'll try it, but Idk if I'll be able to get it to work.
just make sure that you let his armies pass strait when they are close to eachother and its easy
Note:Asking military access to venice doesnt work he just sends 3/1 of his army when you do it

also:this strategy is easier to win compared to moment where you form alliance with both hungary and poland because you gonna fight once and win entire battle :p

seriusly only thing gonna stop you from 100 warscore is ottoman rebels :p

A decent idea I've heard for 1.22 Byz is:

-Build up navy as you generally do for a Byz start (I generally go 2 heavies and 2 galleys on top of my initial navy)
-Attempt to ally Hungary and Mamluks; only Hungary is fine for this strat
-Wait for Ottos to get into a war on the far side of Anatolia (QQ is the best; AQ, Dulkadir, and Karaman also work) so their troops aren't in Europe
-DoW promising Hungary land and bullrush Edirne; designate Hungary to siege Edirne as well and try to get Janos Hunyadi there
-Hunt down the Ottoman navy; I personally haven't lost the naval battle with the composition above
-If the Ottos come back while you are sieging Edirne, hopefully Janos is enough to at least win and keep the siege. If you lose the siege, you're screwed.
-Should you successfully take Edirne and have naval superiority, congrats! You've won the war and can get enough WS to at least connect your land (taking Edirne, Selanik, and Tirhala).
-If you were able to ally the Mamluks and call them in, you can take a stab at Anatolia if you really want to hurt the Ottos, but don't overreach yourself.
-I recommend trying to keep Hungary by at least giving them Vidin; screw the Mamluks over though.

The main issue with this strat is having to rely on Hungary having Janos Hunyadi at Edirne, but I think it's a bit easier than trying to win a solo war against Venice and you don't have to do the disgraceful action of moving your capital to Negroponte.

In earlier versions it was possible to use scorched earth tactics to burn his manpower. Build a couple heavy ships to blockade the strait and siege down anatolia. in the meantime he is burning his men on the land you scorched.
I don't know whether this still works, should still be possible though. I did it that way, but it was quite some time ago.

You don't even need them. 1.22 is actually so much easier than 1.19/1.20 were as the Ottomans don't see you as such a threat. While the Ottomans are fighting either QQ or MAM, just take Edirne first. They didn't rush themselves back for me and once Edirne is taken you've won.

I let Ottomans have access through my lands so they could go to war with the rest of Europe some more, then I just take more of the lands they conquer. Why even bother having to fight Wallachia, Serbia, Bosnia and Albania when Ottomans will do all this for you and you can just liberate the lands into your fold.

This is impossible to get to work, but I got VERY(VERY) lucky, Hungry decided Siege Edirne. The Wall LUCKILY broke, and I assaulted the fort. Won the assault, and that was that. See how long it took me to rely? Yea that's how many times it took. AI isn't all that great. Hungry loves to spilt it's armies so the Ottomans can wipe them out one by one. I almost gave up on doing a Byzantium run as it's impossible.

I doubt anyone else going to get this to work without a lot of luck. Trying to get lucky and hope Hungry decided Siege Edirne is a nightmare.

P.S. Took 4 heavies! Also Otto's attacked me, I didn't declare.

Welp. Glad you got it to work, less glad the strategy isn't by any means reliable. Sorry if you found your time wasted. :/

The lesson here, I guess, is to never trust the AI. Especially against the Ottomans, and even if your side seems to have overwhelming force.

Either way thank you. Yours worked, and was the only one that did. BTW Time wasted? lol I've wasted so much time trying and all over ways failed, yours was the only one that worked for me even if it was luck. Anyway it was more of a heads up for others. Once again Thank you.
