Is this the welcome I receive from my former comrades? A challenge, and in Middle English at that! I fare well, though you'll forgive me if I find this greeting a biding towards farewell.Hail, and well met, stranger. How fare thee?

Honest to god, al-Aziz, where have you been? It's been so dreadfully boring. I even went on reddit for a bit.Is this the welcome I receive from my former comrades? A challenge, and in Middle English at that! I fare well, though you'll forgive me if I find this greeting a biding towards farewell.

Ah, so Devil worship.I've been, um, on Tumblr. >.> I got a job, too, and partially converted to Aztec paganism.
and partially converted to Aztec paganism.
Presumably there used to be! And there might still be; there are some Mexica groups still doing religious things, though it's never really been a religion interested in converting people. Is there a formal ecclesial procedure for that?
Not quite! It's more like sun worship.Ah, so Devil worship.
Thanks! ^^ I'm glad to be back!Well, I'm glad to see you're back.
But by "partially" I mean something like "I thought that it sounded really cool and aesthetic so I decided to do rituals involving Huitzilopochtli without ever interacting with another Aztec pagan, not even over the Internet".
Unfortunately murder remains illegal where I live, even if it's for religious purposes. So what did you kidnap to sacrifice their heart? Better yet where did you get a massive stone pyramid?
Unfortunately murder remains illegal where I live, even if it's for religious purposes.I was surprised and dismayed to find this out- it was lucky, though, that I'd decided to do my research beforehand instead of after!
In all seriousness the Aztec gods accept different sacrifices, such as your own blood or animal blood or sadness or pain or whatever. I've only sacrificed things like "30 minutes of running at a moderate pace" (yet! growth mindset!).
Huh, what nature spirits do you worship?Hmm... So all goes they sorta sound like the nature spirits that I worship. Does the likelihood of a response depend on the thing sacrificed, like will blood sacrifice get priority over emotional sacrifice and human one over animal one?

I'm not really clear on what the nature of the sacrifice determines. Naively it seems like the magnitude of the sacrifice contributes to its effect.
It might be helpful to note that the Aztecs viewed blood sacrifice as necessary for keeping the sun moving/rising. The gods had given their own blood to start the sun rising, and further blood sacrifices from humans were necessary to keep the gods and the sun alive and moving.
Different gods also accepted sacrifices of different animals or in different manners. For example, Tlaloc the god of rain and drowning and disease accepted sacrifices of crying children, presumably because tears represented rain/drowning and, more definitely, because he was associated with children (I'm not sure why). Among other things, Huitzilopochtli was associated with hummingbirds, Quetzalcoatl with butterflies (iirc), and Mictlantecuhtli with owls, so the animals sacrificed to them corresponded with these.

I got a job, too
Ooh, that's cool! I seem to remember that you're from Finland? All of the spirits of the natural world, depending on location of course. Though the spirits in urban areas have a tendency of getting more of my patronage due to me usually being in them.
I don't know!Interesting, though wasn't Quetzalcoatl a serpent so why the association with butterflies?
*sigh*Bye.
That's what I'll have to tell the judge presiding over my plea deal. "Someone on the internet said that you should ask for forgiveness, not permission, so I decided to erect an enormous ziggurat to Huitzilopochtli in my backyard and then subsequently I [violent crime redacted] several passerby. I hope that that was okay; I'm really sorry about it and I promise it won't happen again."I've always lived with an ask for forgiveness not permission theory of life. I suggest you try that with human sacrifice.

Welcome back, comrade!I've been, um, on Tumblr. >.> I got a job, too, and partially converted to Aztec paganism.
Indeed.Oh I almost forgot, welcome to the proletariat!
I mean, I'm also now working as a welder in a factory, so I guess I'm also part of the proletariat.
However, I have no class consciousness, so I'm not a commie.![]()
