Due to it today being 10 years since the demolishion of the youth house started DR had compiled a list of facts about it.
Turns out that the house, back when it still was the Worker's House, was where the Women's International Day was invented and declared during the Second Socialist International. I.e. every woman can thank that house for having an International Day.
And that Lenin visited the house.
Also turns out that the Lord Mayor, who got a pucket of water poured over his head as thanks for giving the house to the youth, regretted two things when he stopped as Lord Mayor in 1989. Having given the house to the youth and having abolishing the trams of Copenhagen in 1971.
(And you can add Green Day to the list of bands to have toured the house.)
