The first time I heard that, I thought she was singing "I wanna cigarette".
The song would be no less poetic for the change.

I don't think I have a limited Worldview. I'm perfectly aware what countries exist around the World and also is acquainted with the language and culture of several of them. I'm also perfectly aware that not all countries are like Scandinavia. How can that be called a limited Worldview? And since when have I been dismissing non Danish things just because they were non Danish? You seem to have a rather limited worldview, often dismissing non-Danish things just because you're not familiar with them.
But I'm not pretentious. And Copenhageners really are feeling they are better than everybody else. Guess that probably is an intrinsic property for all capitals, since afaik people in other capitals around the World are the same.and that's fine, just be aware of it and don't start criticising others for being pretentious.
Yes; why wouldn't it be? You think they just wrote some Danish lyrics and a score for the show instead of using an already existing song. Now how they came across this one is quite a conundrum given that it's rather obscure---especially to non Danes.THE TROLL SONG IS REAL?!![]()
The Reich Archive doesn't employ trolls; neither in reality nor in that Christmas Calender. In fact IIRC there are no trolls in that Christmas Calender; it's the fourth Pyrus Christmas Calender which has trolls; that's from 2000 whereas the one this song is from is from 1994. If you want I can try and see whether I can find the actual troll song from that fourth Pyrus. (It also had a dragon and was in 3d; though the 3d glasses they sold for it didn't work.I guess the moral is that Reich Archive shouldn't employ trolls?
It's a song from a 1994 Christmas Calender which South Park for some reason has been using. What? Is this a lost track or something?
How do you know that it's not Danish? Because it could very well have been; it is perfectly Danish words. They just don't have any meaning. It's part of the tradition of how to traditionally make song (especially children ones); have a refrain with some catchy words which don't have a particular meaning. You don't watch South Park, I presume?
It's a track used whenever Denmark comes up in the series. I presumed it was fake, because "ching chang ching nutilai" isn't Danish at all.
Ehm what? I don't think I've mentioned Christmas Calenders on more than at most two occasions. How's that connecting any topic to them? (Also you are aware that the South Park troll song was taken from the 1994 TV2 Christmas Calender "Alletiders Jul" which was the first Pyrus Christmas Calender? Hence mentioning that isn't connecting the topic to Christmas Calenders, since it already was from the start due to the song being from a Christmas Calender.)I'm amazed by your capability to connect any topic to Danish Christmas calendars.
I was exaggerating slightly, but you do link seemingly unrelated topics to aspects of contemporary Danish culture(e.g Christmas calendars) a hell of a lot more than anyone else links seemingly unrelated topics to aspects of their contemporary culture.Ehm what? How's it a seemingly unrelated topic? Again the "troll song" actually is a song from a Christmas Calender, so it's not unrelated in any way.I was exaggerating slightly, but you do link seemingly unrelated topics to aspects of contemporary Danish culture(e.g Christmas calendars) a hell of a lot more than anyone else links seemingly unrelated topics to aspects of their contemporary culture.

So he just lives in the archive?
Christmas Calenders aren't a Danish thing; they are a Nordic thing. They exist all over the North. And I don't see how they wouldn't ever come up if I were on a different forum. Also pretty sure it has been relevant every time that I have brought them up. Like in this case where I mentioned that the troll song actually was a Christmas Calender song. It's just that it seems like a very specific and rare topic that would never come up, but you've mentioned Danish Christmas Calendars multiple times. If you were not on this forum, I think they'd come up absolutely never. But you've brought them up a minimum of three times in the last five months.
Who? There are no trolls in that Christmas Calender. The two main character nisser do live in the Reich Archive though; and so does the archive manager by the way. He found that he spent so much time managing the archive that he might as well move in permanently. So he just lives in the archive?
Who's been asked to more out? The nisser haven't and in fact pretty much no humans know about them existing. And the only one knowing the archive manager living in the Reich Archive is his secretary (and the nisser of course), so he hasn't been asked to move out either, since nobody knows he moved in in the first place. They've twice asked him to move out now, but you know how attached they get to their dimly lit subterranean spaces and diet of chewy archivists!
Which town? London?Wagon, when are you in town this summer?
Hotels aren't cheap in London afaik though. Anyway don't know at the moment whether I'd have the time to take a trip to London. There's cheap flights to Aarhus from London
Like what?you are actually like this in real life.

Guys, please tell me I'm not making this up.
Wait, are we trying to talk you down from a bad trip or is Wagonlitz simply too much for you?
Guys, please tell me I'm not making this up.
I think that Torn might be on to something. There is no way a normal human being in a first-world country who regularly uses the Internet and interacts with native English speakers doesn't understand the idiom "I'm going insane."Making what up?
I'll provide live updates for the meeting and subsequent interactions between the two of you upon 'litz's arrival.Wagon, when are you in town this summer? There's cheap flights to Aarhus from London, and to retain my tenuous grip on reality I need to figure out whether you are actually like this in real life.
