This. CCCP Green can keep his asplainers.I still like the Biscoff video better.
Also his claim that the more democratic the lower the tax rate isn't true. For most it might be, but there are exceptions. The Nordic Region being a main one. We have the highest average tax rates in the World (around 50%) and yet you can't claim we are really democratic..

We have the highest average tax rates in the World (around 50%) and yet you can't claim we are really democratic. Now whether we are more democratic than most and hence there is a point where more democracy means higher taxes or we just are outliers, I'm not the man to answer, since I don't think I would be able to answer objectively.
Also don't know about the rest of the World, but at least here in the North people on benefits pay taxes of those benefits too, so his claim about people on benefits lowering the tax rate isn't really true---here at least.
They added more provinces to Jutland in EU4 (including an Århus province)! And not just that; it appears that it was my thread and the arguments of me and a few other Danes which led to this!
*Feels smug; if true that means that over half the Danish provinces now exist to some degree because of various threads of mine.* (Bornholm etc. were due to a thread I made during EU4 development.)
Don't think so. Though there has been on and off comments about it being needed for years, but pretty sure that my thread from early this year with actual proposals, which to a large degree were what happened, was the first thread dedicated to it. At least for years. And that thread which got Bornholm added was the first on that issue; I'm completely certain I was first there due to how the issue sprung up in the first place.Didn't some other guy make a thread before you, Wagon?
To be fair Denmark sorely needed more provinces. The problem is that Denmark could be run over and annexed in one war which is completely ahistorical---and it meant that the whole dynamics in Scandinavia were off meaning that Sweden too couldn't behave realistically. So they decide to feed the Danish need to feel relevant, but still won't fix the huge bloody issue of the huge bloody provinces in Eastern Europe.

@Health I just noticed that the Russians got two new provinces, so there were provinces for Eastern Europe too.
That's what Denmark got too.Wow, two whole provinces.
That doesn't make sense. Did you mean that the Eastern shore has an incorrect province setup? What do you mean that even the Eastern Shore of the Baltic is incorrectly made into provinces.
That's what Denmark got too.
That doesn't make sense. Did you mean that the Eastern shore has an incorrect province setup?
And if so then to be frank Denmark and Sweden probably should have 4 or 5 additional provinces each to not be too incorrect. As is they are both incorrect too. (And so is Norway I think; though it's nearing a good state---at least in the western part.)

Sure Russia is much larger; much of that land was also if not useless then not really influential in this period though. On the other hand Denmark (and Sweden, who can't work without a somewhat realistic Denmark) was important at a World scale throughout this period. For one thing we had one of the largest and most powerful navies throughout this era. And we were really rich and powerful in the first half and still quite rich and powerful afterwards too---it's not a coincidence that Hamlet is set in Denmark. Or that it's Kronborg in particular where it happens. The Danish kings at the time of Shakespeare were (in)famous across Europe for their elaborate and extravagant day long parties---many of which were held at Kronborg. Frederik II for instance died in 1588 after having been binge drinking for around a week at a close relatives wedding. And Christian IV lost his PM in 1632 due to drinking: They had been binge drinking and partying for days when Frants Rantzau decided that taking a leak in the moat was a good idea. Of course he was so hammered that he managed to fall into it and drown.Okay, so let's compare the two.

Now, would you look at that. Nearly 400x larger than Denmark, but still the same amount of province detail. Now granted that is transcontinental Russia, but just European Russia is already about 4 million square km. This isn't even including the rest of Eastern Europe. You know, I can understand putting more detail into places that need it, however given how dense Western Europe already is with provinces it would be better if all the attention didn't go to cramming extra provinces into Western Europe and rather towards fixing country sized provinces in the ROTW. Also, yes I do have a personal gripe in this argument and everyone can try and make an educated guess at what it is.
They're obviously focusing on the important parts.Meanwhile the geography of America in just about every Paradox game remains terrible.
It's particularly terrible in HoI 3, a game where America is one of the most important powers. Also, Denmark was not influential "on a world scale" in the 1400s. Nobody really was.Sure Russia is much larger; much of that land was also if not useless then not really influential in this period though.
