"For my first visit, I've brought some Prussian specialties: here, Schnapps, and the latest additions to the Prussian wine-cellar: Badener and Alsacer wine. And a few bottles Champagne my friend here acquired during his trip in France.

"On the other hand... there's a beer strike!"

"What??!??". People were looking very anxious.
"Beer strike?"

"Maybe he meant 'bear', them furriners talk funny!"

Norgesvenn cleared his throat.

"The beer strike is in Norway, not in cyberspace. The bAAR will be virtually unaffected by this".

Warspite self-destructing sounded bad, thought Norgesvenn, as he prepared the weekend's delights.
The greenboard was empty, but for Eochaid's child-like drawings of certain guests and an invitation to Copenhagen for a European AAR binge. Norgesvenn had scrawled his name on the list hanging below.

"Anything to get a bit of change from the everyday grind", he muttered.

MrT dropped by, thankfully.
"Ah, T! A true pleasure to see you!"
"Thanks the same... I notice that you haven't updated your AAR or The Righteous BastAARds recently... any particular reason?"
"Workload, illness, Norway playing footie... plenty of reasons..."
"You don't write when you're ill??? Man, I can teach you to!"
"Thanks, but I'm still looking for an angle regarding my AAR, and I haven't had the time to play TRB yet... want a beer?"
"Sure!"
"On the house. For you being you and all!"
"Thanks!"

Norgesvenn was sort of sad that Shawn had ended his Dutch AAR. It had been such a jolly good time. But there were others. A young Welshman had undertaken a task as Denmark. Norg loved Denmark. Not just because the country had produced such fine men as kurtbrian, Peter Ebbesen and Valdemar, but because Denmark's fate was tied to that of his homeland, the cold and abhorrently expensive Norway.

Friday... time for the weekend specials.

This weekend:
Virtually free beer
Eochaid juggles
Lord Durham promises new installment in "Portugal or Bust"
Meatballs: Non-expensive in whatever currency you may choose

Sunday: Derby County vs. Nott'm Forest. Norg asks everyone to support the Reds in this quint-essential local derby in England's Division I.


The last part was a bit partisan, he knew. Then again, a Derby supporter wouldn't have the wits necessary to register on a forum...

"I'll read up on 'Portugal or Bust' and that Inca AAR", Norg muttered to the Midnight Rose, and went to the back room.

Zhai woked up, and put his hand on his rear of head, and found the blood on the hand. Then he groggy standing up, then groggy mind cleared in an instant.

Who dared to hit me? Who stop me from telling the story? That son of bastard will be in for it!!! Come forth or be known forever as a coward! Act like Prussian vs. Napeleon AAR! They are brave enough and won against Frogs! Why have you attack me? I will show you, how to fight.

Zhai is looking very belligent then he sat down, as if in dizzy. He muttered something about the cowards in general. He ordered a water, very cold and sweet water.

The man chuckled slightly as he caught his own image in the reflection of his beer mug. Dressed in a flannel overshirt, a Hank Williams III tee-shirt could just barely be made out fron under it, a Green Bay Packers cap, he looked the part of the drunken Yooper and knew it. He didn't care though, he WAS a yooper god dammit, his Father had been 100 percent Finn-German and his mother had been a beautiful French Canadian woman, and he'd lived out near L'ance his entire life.

"Speaking of beautiful women" he said to himself as he noticed a short, dark skinned woman who appeared part Native American, enter the bar. Summing up his courage, he pulled himself off the barstool and went over to meet her.

"You come here a lot", he said in that Wisconsin-UP accent which it seemed the rest of the country loved to make so much fun of.

"Just to read the AARs", she said dismissivly.

He would not be pushed away so easily, of course. "Really? You read the ones by that Dan McCollum guy at all?"

Now there was interest in her eyes. "You read his too", she asked excitedly.

"Oh, yah, of course. Dat one he's doin about Bohemia, The Beating Hear of Europe: A History of Bohemia from 1419-1820, is really good. To think, that last war he got himself into was a mess, but I think tings are gunna be Ok for him. He's a good player"

She shrugged. "He's an okay player, not the best, but a good writer. I like his work in that Venetian AAR, Team A's. His characterization of Girolamo Pruili is breath taking, absolutely breath taking. I'd compare it to Hemingway, but that would actually be an insult to McCollum".

The man smiled. "Yah, I know, he's really good. Hey could I buy you a drink, maybe?"

The woman smiled "Of course! How could I turn down anyone with such great taste in authors?"

The walked happily back to the bar.

Eochaid had a smile on his face when Daniel McCollum left. He indeed was a good writter, and his AAR was a good read... Eochaid even put a pile of flyers on the counter that said Read "The Beating Heart of Europe" and win a trip to Prague, all expenses paid by Daniel. That would be a good way to increase his readership.

But that girl... Jeeze. First girl ever I've seen in here. Well except the midnight Rosie of course but...

Passeportout looked up from something he was writing, and saw Daniel McCollum and Eochaid hitting on some girl. He got up and walked over. "Hey, lay off my sister" he said.

Judas walks into the bAAR. There, he immediately orders some spirits.

"You look horrible, Judas," said Eochaid. "What happened?"

"A strange battle in The Catholic King. Thames (as a ghost called de Coucy) vs. MrT (as Torquemada) and I (as Alfonso). We won, but it was close. Thames posessed MrT, then MrT posessed me, then I posessed--"

"Thank you, that's enough. I'm sure the people here will get the idea when they read it."

 

[Director]

"Eochaid! My man! My usual Bacardi 8 - and - cola, please. And perhaps the ice without the little flying creatures in it..."


Aaaaahhhhhhhhh, yes, rum. Writing is such thirsty work. And why is that?

Director shrugs. Maybe we lesser lights just want to imitate the great drunken writers of the past.

Hey, it's more fun than staring at a keyboard sober.


"And Eochaid - please send shawng1 another beer, on me. Anyone who can write like that deserves a beer."
"Congrats on finishing your fine AAR, shawn, but I'm sorry it's over."

Passeportout stands up. "Many of you know that I wrote an EU1 AAR about demons. Not as many know I started an AAR involving a certain dragon named Puff, but you wouldn't because my copy of the game is messed up and I can't get into my savegames. So my next AAR may very well be an EU2 AAR. I ask this: Would you like the catch to be Puff, DemonCorp, or something else. Remember that the AAR probably won't happen soon.

"Young man, although I haven't posted in the EU 1 AAR forum for many a moon", Norg said, while lighting a Gauloise he had procured from Eochaid's pocket.

"I have noticed your Puff AAR. And I think it'd be brilliant to have Puff in an EU II AAR, J.P.".

"Thanks!", J.P. said, and got his grape knee-hive.

"Anytime, mate. Anytime..."

"Now if only I could get them TemplAARs up and running", Norg said, and dove into his .inc files again.

"Ah, Someone did see it. Was that when I hadn't found out that it wasn't just that savegame and had a link in my sig? I think that would have been my favorite AAR if it continued. Now, if everyone agrees, I will devote my energy to buying a copy of EU2."

A ghost materializes beside Judas.

"Aaaah! Who's that?"

"Oh, just the ghost of Raphael de Coucy. He's had a tough couple of days. But I would recommend not to get on his bad side.

"Ah, I see DonCossack is promoting his new Lithuania AAR. Quite good, I must say. Now, I have to get some more food. MrT is going to update The Rivers Run Red soon, so I'd better stock up."

I'll just stay here.

Due to my computer crash about two weeks ago, i lost pretty much everything I had on files. However despite the tragedy my Roman AAR will continue once I rebuild some of what I lost from memory.

Zhai held the icebag on his back of head. He still feelling the strike on it. He drinks his pepsi, then perked up when he heard Director's suggestion that people should read my empire and he grinned then he groanned as his sudden move bought on the great pain shooting from his head.

Defeat from victory only work if you keep try, try and pray to God. Eventually, you will win. What is that strange cold spot I feel... GHOST!!! HELP!!! I REALLY HATE GHOSTS.
