I just thought that would be fun and more immersive to have experience for generals.

First we should be able to see the age of our generals and every general should retire at a certain age (just to have an idea of when recruit another one).

Second, stats of a general wan't be static anymore but will improve everytime a general rank up in level.
There should be 3 level of experience correspodent at the actual 1,2 or 3 stars that we already have in the game.

-So how does it work?

Everytime a general is recruited, he starts as a level 1 general (one star) with few pips randomly assigned.
After every battle, depending on how difficult is the battle, the general will gain xp and after a certain amount of exeprience he will level up. After the level up we can distribute a certain number of pips in the 4 categories fire, shock, manouver an siege.

-MIlitary tradition

In this system military tradition can't influence the starting number of pips of our generals.
So it could influence the amount of xp generals gains (speediing up the level up) or influence how many pips the general gains after a level up, or maybe both.

-Admirals

The same is for admirals but they can gain experience protecting trade nodes.

Of course this is just a raw idea but i think it could be a nice start point.
What do you think? Suggestions? Improvements? (And sorry for bad English )

Dear Baxil,

From my own humble perspective, the current mechanism of XP based on tradition is more reasonable. In this game, there is hardly any regiment-scale battle, not to mention the battalion or company-scale battle. However, in the reality, a commander gains their experience primarily as a squad leader, a company leader, or a regiment leader. Once a commander becomes a leader of a division or an army, his style and experience are already shaped and relatively fixed. Since all the commanders in this game are pretty much national icon, they are more determined by the tradition of the host countries, like the West Point of the US.
