No, freedom does not change your ethic - I am still Fanatic Spiritualist/Collectivist. Was Fanatic Spiritualist/Xenophile before.

I was playing my first game and i was playing it to be quite long (normal dificulty, it's my first Stellaris game). After stopping Prethoryn Swarm crisis only to find out 20 years later that Materialist FE avoke to stop already stopped crisis, I desided to cause War in Heaven. Selected way was simple - attack Xenophobe FE (Pious Greenpeace space elves do it simple - send in the Dragon and then send in battleships with war cry "They hurt poor defenceless baby dragon!")

I crashed their fleet and took 4 of their 6 planets. And just after war ended i got this message
FE_Request.jpg

Does FE understand that they are calling to purge their own citizens?

I love the smell of exterminatus in the morning.

Situation continues to turn around and my former overlord empire crumbles - I conquered half of it and than on of my former protectorates - "one ringworld section" civilization (Sanctuary) dicided to rebell. Well, they are doing not very smart thing - I will conquer them when they will win their rebellion.

P.S. Uqo'Praknar still move their ears funny way)

P.S.S. They somehow managed to rebuild a Titan and now bombarding rebellious ringworld section. Looks line we will se Titan vs Dragon: round 2. As you can guess, dragon won round 1)

The Long Game finally ended!

1 multispecties civilization built
149 planets colonized/conquered/vassalized/protectorated + 1 capital
7 habitable ringworld segments populated (4 Beacon of Infinity + 1 Beacon of Stability + 2 Sanctuary)
2 inhabitable ringworlds owned (Cybrex + Beacon of Perplexity)
Totally owned 5 ringworlds out of 6 in the game - the last one was not habitable and quite far till the very end of the game
1 Dragon hatched
2 Fallen and 1 Awakened empires integrated, fourth left intact in gratitude (they have given me resources to upgrade fleet to kill dragon and waged numerous wars against Plant Menace)
1 crisis stopped single-handedly
2 species uplifted
Numerous primitive civilisations enlightened
1 Dimentional Horror banished
1 Big Black Sphere sent to Big Black Hole

Stellaris Victory Screen.jpg

And one space elf civilization to rule half of the 1000 star galaxy)

Now let's go with minor problems
1) Faceless "Super Dash". Everybody knows that, no need to explain)
2) This is more interesting. Eventually I gene-modded my population to give them Enduring trait. All futere leaders got +30 years to live. Nobody of my Lifebringers (title) got that + 30 years to live. Literaly, not a single ruler long after I performed this gene mode over all the species! They all died on 82+ and not on 112+. This looks like bug to me(
3) Lost mausoleum names - after three or four rullers i usually had " 's Great Mausoleum" in place of named ones. Not that important considering their removal in 1.5.

This is somewhere between a bug and a feature. Heriditary rules will always be of the same species. Even if you Genemod the whole species away*. Indeed the Worm event has a specific override to change already existing leaders on the "transform all" choice.
To bad that genemodding is prohibtively expensive in 1.4.

This can be used intentionally, like making your Ruler/Initial species short lived (higher amount of Ruler uniques). And then just integrating other species to become the day-to-day leaders of the empire.

*One could asume there is still a original population remaining. It is to small to be considered a full "pop unit". But large enough to still exist. I think 40k people or so is the requirement to be not considered "died out" as a culture/genetic group.
If 1% of all your pops did not undergo the procedure, that would be too little to affect the per pop yields. But way enough to maintain the original species as ruling class.
