Bug type : Freezing/Crashing
Game: Stellaris CE
Map: Large
Fallen Empires: 3 (eliminated)
AI Empires: 9/10, (all but four eliminated)
Date Save was Created: June Eleventh
Year: 2917
Occurs: Less frequently when idling or waiting for research, (1-3 hours of stability, generously speaking), more frequently when managing employment, being at war (not necessarily in combat just at war), when setting trade routes, and when dismantling Starbases (anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour tops of stability).
Details:

So I am trying this game on game pass and have been loving it so far, but the performance is keeping me from actually purchasing it. I understand, there are stability issues that haven't been worked out yet, but does anyone have any idea when this might get fixed or even looked at? It's just really discouraging to get into this only to have paradox take a hiatus. Having to scum saves to avoid losing progress at the best of times and being black screened or stuttered out at the worst is getting wearisome. That and certain repeatable techs (like interstellar expansion) aren't being rolled into the research pool fairly - putting an unbreakable strain on my empire despite this being easily remedied through the aforementioned research. I really want to give you guys my money, I'm seriously interested in stellaris and all of the dlcs, but it shouldn't come at the cost of limiting my game play options because of bugs.

Apologies, I forgot a few things:

DLC: None
Version: 2.2, or whichever is most recent. There are no updates or downloads available.

*update*

After a few days of running as stated above, the resettle option for planets immediately crashes or crashes shortly after trying to move pops. This makes it impossible to optimize the economy and in some cases take care or unemployment ast expelling pops only functions when housing is surpassed, not jobs. This creates an endless loop of low stability and in some cases crime.

*update 2*

Since this seems to be getting ignored, thanks PDX, I'm just going to keep posting observations and patterns regarding this issue weekly or as I notice them.

One thing I've found to fix the resettlement problem is to save scum one or two pops at a time and cross your fingers it doesn't crash immediately. If it does, redo it until you get the pops moved. Then give it about fifteen days and save. It will likely crash on reload, but the save will normally take.

However this brings another issue. Specialists that migrate in are not reducing strata on the planet they migrate to. They're just disappearing and not taking any of the employment slots on the planet after they do. They just vanish, die? Hard to say.

Another thing I've noticed is that occasionally when the game is crashing at a specific point sometimes it helps to spam Starbase upgrades. I'm not sure why this works, and it doesn't always work, but it works consistently enough for me to put down here. I'm not sure if it just gives the console something else to focus on or what, but I've managed to get through a couple of tough loading spots just by upgrading station defense platforms.

While I'm here, a suggestion I have for a QOL improvement to help with these resettlement issues is to, especially on warring servers, allow the player to choose where refugees go if they want, not just assign them a planet.
