Because you are going to ruin it with infamy points ? They have no interest in the provinces you want to give ?

In any case, why not posting it in the EUIII part, where you'll get more answers ?

Another possibility is that your war just started. The AI always wants a period of time to figure out who's winning (if anyone).

It's usually a case of this. It's best to wait until the AI starts offering peace before sending your own offers.

You are trying to make a peace offer that has a warscore of 344. The maximum the computer will accept is 100, which is when you occupy all of their territories. Also your current warscore is -2 (you're losing), and the computer will usually accept offers around your current warscore given enough time.

I almost wonder if the AI uses the CB to determine when to give peace. AI don't usually ask for peace unless the seem to reach a wargoal that is set by the CB. One time, Brugundy DOWed me and they wouldn't give peace until they got to my capital (war of aggression), and in the same game Spain DOWed me and wouldn't give peace until I completely destroyed their army or give up all my colonies on the northern part of South America (colonialism).

I doubt that it's actually intended like this though, the devs probably never even considered this when making the AI. :p

That's what he's giving, not taking ^^

Think of it as the AI taking 344% of the deal: In this case, it cannot happen.

Other factors of course apply, such as length of war, number of allies, war exhaustion, etc. So unless Bohemia proves to be too much trouble, wait out the war for some time. If not, see if giving them their cored provinces helps.

Actually it can happen. a -344% peace offer will almost always be accepted provided that the AI is willing to make peace. -100% is not a barrier in the same way as 100% is.

Well, when you offer AI peace, it will not accept something, that is not it's aim ussualy (or your aim if you win - mean they are less likely to accept when something you want is not your aim). Say, they might, want to get some of your provinces, that are not their core, so they need to occupy them...

The AI doesn't have desires or aims. Once they've battered you it's easy to placate them with worthless provinces or sphere reductions.

Well actualy they do, IE if country goes for reconquest, it will prefer you cede provinces, rather than reduce sphere or release vassals, and vice versa, if it is war with the about meddling with SOI cb, they ussualy does not take provinces.

I can't really remember being attacked by the AI for any reason other than seizing provinces or pointless aggression, so you might be right. :)

Well, imho, AI should be more likely to use other CB, than reconquest/conquers/holywar(if they don't have those, but have others), and much less likely to declare war with no CB(as player like never do it - and AI should play as much as player do as possible), or when it got truce. Like AI agression wars, should be hard to find in game. Also, AI should be more likely to make it's conquest missions(Aspecialy if their targets are attacked by someone else), like moscow for example - if it would DOW their mission targets, russia would be much more likely to appear...

In my Ottoman game, Denmark declared war on me three times without any casus belli (I was not the crusade target and the wars were indeed XX of aggression). The AI tends to avoid wars of aggression unless the target country is already in 1 or more other wars at which point certain crazy AIs will attempt their best vulture impression whether they have a reason or not or even if it makes no sense.

I should have given more information in the original post - Bohemia had cores on those provinces I was ceding in the peace offer. The war was allegedly started to reclaim those, so I decided I would give them back (0 BB to Bohemia). They refused, so I started to add everything I could and they still would not accept it.

Most of the time, it seems, AI will attack me because of rival/threat thingy. Basically they jump because they see you as weak, and if things turn to their favor, they demand a province or 2, or something else to fill up the score %.

However, sometimes, AI will attack you for a core province or for a conquest mission, and at those times, it will pretty much refuse ANY peace offer that does not include what they were originally after, but if you manage to prolong the war they will eventually settle for anything, including other provinces/sphere reduction etc, it seems this kicks in sometimes like 5 years after the war had started.
