Here is an explanation of the icons. Does anyone know what the red icon next to the attrition indicator is?

The red '!' means the unit has been assigned to a battleplan but would result in supply problems if they did, so they're on hold outside the target zone. You can manually override it but that'd possibly be dangerous for your entire plan. Source: First Japan WWW

You use political power to create wargoals on an enemy which will let you declare war. Otherwise as Fascist you need to already be at war with an enemy with at least 40% (I think) of your IC for you to be able to continuously declare war.

Here is an explanation of the icons. Does anyone know what the red icon next to the attrition indicator is?View attachment 166810
It apears to be a fuelcan, so would seem its low on supplies, specially fuel.

I'd love to see an executed battle plan where Da9L doesn't do his micromanagement at all. Like, if he had just told his naval invasion in last session to start, would his troops not have taken cut off part of the peninsula on their own?

Greetings to the HoI IV forums.

I was wondering if we could get a quick look at combat width, specifically at pros/cons of increasing number of brigades (columns) that we use with the division designer. I believe it was said in one of the streams or DDs that increasing the number of brigades increases combat width, but at the expense of having fewer divisions simultaneously fighting. In other words, is there an optimal config for divisions, say 3x3/4x4/ etc? I believe we saw you with 3x3 inf. divisions during the MP campaign, but now Japan has 4x4 inf div.

Showing techs would be cool as well. I'm still curious as to whether stats on techs (tanks/planes etc) are identical between majors.

I've been tuning in to the WWW streams and replays on youtube since the beginning all those weeks ago, and it's been a blast watching the game we will all be playing so soon! Big thanks to the devs for making so much of the game known over the last few months.

Yes i agree.

And of course what kind of strategy och overall plan he's going for.

@Kitsuka @Dr.Stjärtlukt @Cutty1911 Pretty sure I've talked about this in both WWW, and here is a comment about it I made quite a while ago :p
It does not fight any differently but it's restricting what you can have in each division.
If I have 1x5, I can only have infantry battalions in that division template.
If I have 5x1, I can add different kinds of units in the other 4 free rows, each row can only handle one type, Infantry battalions, Mobile battalions or Armored battalions.

I'd like to see how running a custom faction would work. Perhaps at some point create your own Japanese faction?

Sadly i won't be able to catch it live :/

As you said naval combat, also I'd like to se different division icons?, like a tank with a lightning on.

Take it slow, makes it better imo.

Do a little warfare this time. I loved the last video, lots of explanation, but you barely unpaused the game. The Chinese arent gonna beat themselves! Show them the might of the Yapanese Yempire!
Me personally likde to get indepth explainations of everything that is being done. I already know you can have war in this game. But there is alot about the mechanics and features I know little about.

Well there's two things I'd like
1. (I'm going to keep posting this every-time the question comes up :p) More on the variants/models and spending war experience. You've shown several times how it can be done and I'm sure we all get the mechanics of it. But you've yet to ever use a variant if nothing else I'd like to know that it's poorly balanced and your avoiding it for a specific reason. And if that's the case then what changes or what direction the balance is interned to take.

2. I'd like to just see Dan have fun. That's one of the things that actually has me more stoked about the game than anything else. The fact that the devs seem to genuinely enjoy playing their own game after having sunk literally thousands of hours into it. So dan play the game the way you'd want to so that your having fun and then just explain why your making the choices that your are making.
