WWW nations sending army assistance

In Yesterday's WWW (just watched it right now) Germany sent three divisions to help Hungary fight the Czechs, I saw them arrive but the battle moved so fast I couldn't tell what was happening with them.

Does Germany control what they do or was Hungary ordering them around? and also what happens if they take a province on their own, does it belong to Germany or is it automatically ceded to Hungary?

It appears to work like the EU4 system. You control the army. The owner.

There are two options for sending troops.
1. Volunteers - can only be send to non-allies and you keep control of them.
2. Expedition forces - send to allies of your faction. They controll them.

So in the WWW Germany send volunteers (as Hungary and Ger are not allies.) and controlled them themself.
