Hungary was a shriveled remnant of an Imperial relic and no threat, not starting out anyway. It had established cliaims, though the actual targets in the WWW are quite different from those the expected targets of Romania and Yugoslavia, each strong enough to take care of itself.
An expanded Hungary might be seen as a stronger bulwark against communism and counter-weight to Germany with a potential conflict over the Germanic areas and an inherently threatening posture toward Germany. One can imagine Italy courting its new Hungarian neighbor.
