It is night 1 right now, and will enter day 1 night 2 a little over 5 hours.

A long time ago -almost five years- he started working on his revolutionary theory, Psicohistery. He used it to predict the future not about individuals but about groups of people.
And he was afraid this time the chaotical results he predicted will be needed in this spaceship.
He had seen the symptoms before...get so many people into the same place and craziness will start moving on its own, people blaming others with no info, secret knowledge going to the wrong hands, and lots of patxaran alcohol to drink.

edit: After losing your brave, handsome and incredibly intelligent captain the crew was understandably peeing themselves in panic. However it seems no one actually died on the first evening of the voyage. Despite that clearly someone needs to be airlocked for killing the captain, your most awesome leader.
