WTH is the beta patch?

Is it the last post in the beta download thread? I realize that you want to leave all the old betas up but could you possibly make the beta d/l thread anymore confusing to a new comer?

There is no label to the last post and when I install it (no readme informing me what beta version, a simple betapatch.readme would be nice btw) the in-game screen says June.... ???

Yes. We could put the latest one smack dab in the middle.


But just ignore that date stamp. Its out of date. The last post will give you the latest beta patch. Always.

Beta instructions are clearly written in the first post of that thread, outlining the procedure for installing and using the beta patches. Yes, I agree that we haven't gone out of our way to make bullet-proof for casual users, but the fact that it's available as a public beta is a major departure from the usual behind-the-scenes beta work and it would significantly increase our (volunteer) workload to create installers for each patch instead.
