So I was playing Warthunder, hyping for HOI IV. Being OP with my soviet tanks. Guess what, game crashes. Why, you ask? Well, my savedebug for DH keeps gaining a massive size, currently it is 64 GB!!! What keeps happening here?
That's quite unusual. What's the debug level set in settings.cfg? Are you playing any mod? Taking a peek into that file (you'll need a powerful tool for that - like a HEX editor, as no text editor could handle file that big) could shed some light over the problem.
When such a file reaches multiples of its usual size, quite often the content is highly redundant.
- Mayhap reproduce with another file and stop playing while it can still be handled, then examine that file instead? No one is ever going to dig through 64 GB of information anyway.
Backup your monster there, just in case you cannot produce a viable candidate thereafter.
I encountered that a lot when making coding mistakes in my modding.
Perhaps you changed the code in some file? Depending on what type of coding mistake it is, it will create a massive savedebug file when loading the scenario.
- Try reinstalling the game and backup your saved game.
- Maybe the issue is with your saved game itself. Do you remember changing any settings in the save file?
I know what is happening. Every time I try to play Turning Point (alpha 0.2) the game doesn't start up. Then I go do someting else, but DH is still running in the background.
