As Poland, I conquered the Pommeranian tribes to the north. Afterwards, I got the "wrong type of holding" warning, and each holding in the three provinces is labeled with a "recently conquered" modifier for wrong religion, wrong culture, etc which expires in approximately five years.

I can't seem to find any information about the wrong type of holding warning itself, but I am assuming it is directly related to the recently conquered modifiers. If that is the case, will the warning clear once the modifiers expire?

Is there a way to clear these modifiers early? Five years seems excessively long.

"Wrong type of holding" refers to you directly holding a city or bishopric. Either give them away to a mayor or bishop or create a new such vassal by right-clicking that settlement and choose the "Create new vassal" option from the menu that pops up.

The wrong type has to do with you owning the churches, cities, and baronies. You should hand them off to someone more suitable, give someone the mayor title or bishophric etc. I don't believe the recently conquered modifier has anything to do with it. I think that is more of the conquered provinces are just taking time to assimilate into your kingdom and while they're doing so they are giving you less than ideal income.

You guys are too quick! :eek:o

Your king is now the proud owner of a bishopric and/or a city. Since he isn't a churchman or burgher you'll get additional penalties to those holdings (when you lose the recent conquest ones).

Your best option is to assign an existing courtier to rule those holdings (or create a vassal to rule them).

Aye, they're a different thing from the modifiers. Really, each one means exactly what it says: the Wrong Culture means the holding is... the wrong culture. the Wrong Religion means the holding is... the wrong religion. And the Wrong Type of Holding means the holding is, you guessed it, of the wrong type.

It's also worth noting that if you convert the province religion/culture to the holder religion/culture, the occupation modifiers will disappear immediately

I cant seem to do this, i conquered Venezia however when right clicking the settlement all the options are greyed out

I don't think you can do it for the capital holding in a province. You need to gift it to an existing mayor of you want to get rid of it instead.
