Wrong Checksum

I purchased Crusader Kings II on Steam and, after trying to do some MP, realized that I have the wrong checksum. It is DRST, not JQDK on my laptop. I have tried verifying and reinstalling the game, but to no avail. I tried installing it on a different computer, and it has the correct checksum there, though. Does anyone know what is going on or how I could fix this?

I assume you have the latest patch (1.08) installed?

Did you have the game earlier, before 1.08 patch? Try deleting the Paradox folder in My Docs...

have you done any modifications at all? they'll mess up the checksum.

Yes, I do have 1.08 installed. It says "1.08 (DRST)" in the bottom left corner of the main menu.

I got the game at 1.05 (and I've never tried playing MP before so I haven't actually bothered to see if my checksum has ever been wrong before) but deleting that folder didn't change it.

I have not made any personal modifications, and, besides that, shouldn't reinstalling have fixed it? I did notice that all of my mods were still in the mod folder after reinstalling, though. Should I try manually deleting the whole Steam CK2 folder and then install it again?

Cut and paste the mods somewhere else and try it. Are your mods in the program files folder or the my docs folder?

Uninstall, manually delete the game folder, manually delete crusader kings ii folder in my documents -> paradox interactive. If you want to keep your mods and saves move them somewhere else before you delete the folders. Then reinstall the game.

Just verify the files with Steam. Should find and fix the corrupted file.

it doesn't, it's complicated.

@ op, delete your complete ck2 folder and reinstall the game, only way to be sure.
