In Patch 1.13 the following rule was added:
- No longer willing to join a country's offensive wars if it already joined one from that country in the last 10 years (so they're not just one country's wrecking ball all the time).
I think that's a good and sensible new rule, but I would like to propose a small change to encourage and reward cooperation:
The period in which the country refuses to join offensive wars should be reduced if it was given provinces in the peace deal. Because if both countries (the one that started the war and the ally) benefit more or less equally, you cannot really say that one was the 'wrecking ball'.
For example: let's say you're playing as Savoy and invade France with your allies Burgundy and Castile. Once you have won the war, you force France to give all three countries some provinces. Every member of the Alliance benefits. Now there should be no more reason for Burgundy and Castile to refuse a call to arms 3 years later for a war against Aragon, in which their loyalty would probably again be greatly rewarded!
I think this would improve gameplay also because it would be an incentive (both for human players and AI) to be less selfish and also consider the interests of the partners in the peace deal. (right now there's only the fairly small 'was (not) given occupied provinces' opinion modifier)
So you could for example reduce the 10 year cool-down period for every province given in the peace deal, or you look at the province tax income, or the share of the peace offer value that goes to each partner.
What do you think?
