Quite literally....in this career I have had precious little luck with Flash-points. My first one (Joint Venture) went extremely well, then I got my rear handed to me in the Succession Flash-point.

I just barely made it through the Siege-Breaker Flash-point in one piece, then went on to get pwned in the 2nd mission of the Hearts & Minds Flash-point (I stupidly decided to attack the base).

I was then faring pretty poorly through the first 2 parts of The Steel Beast Flash-point, in no small part thanks to some very bad encounters with Demolishers in parts 1 & 2 (added with the fact it was a consecutive deployment)......followed by me getting cheated by the antagonist (I really should have dropped the whole lance on his head, as Yang suggested).

To be completely honest, it's made me very nervous about tackling any new ones in the roughly 500 days remaining.

The plus side is that I've now managed to add a Grasshopper & a Quickdraw to my Mech Bay......thanks to The Steel Beast Flash-point!

I think the important thing to remember about flashpoints is that they really mean it when they tell you the skull level. With procgen contracts, you can afford to take a few risks in contract selection because the stakes are lower and there's no risk that you'll have to immediately drop again with no time to lick your wounds. For a flashpoint, you need to arrive loaded for bear, because failure comes with significant penalties.

Some flashpoints punch well above their weight. The Morgan Kell Flashpoint is my nemesis. I have struggled with that every time. Although the RNG gods hate me for the most part this campaign. I finished One Mans Trash Last night and got a Locust 1M as my rare mech.
