If I have time, I'll be writing the first pack of civil war events today, though I'm not entirely sure that'll be possible (I'll try), but I'll surely be making the reds' flag. Care to share the flags that you've made already?

Okay, sounds good. And if you wanna see some flags, here:

Oh, yeah, that's just great. Maybe you continue looking into ministers for now? And what about the FPB flag?

Sure I can.

Forgot the other Breton flag completely... well, we can request it with your red France flag.

Okay, we'll do just that. Or maybe wait and gather a pack of 5 or so first? You got any more alternate countries that popped on the world map during the interbellum?

Well, the Korean Imperial flag is a bit different from the Republic of Korea one:

Flag_of_Korea_%281882-1910%29.svg

(empire)

kr.gif

(republic)

Other than that, I don't think we need any other ones for now, except for the ones already mentioned.

I can make your flags, just not counters. Which pictures should I use?

Hey, that's great! Care to do the Korean Empire one? (I don't think the counter would look that different in this case anyway)

Yeah, we need to request those too. But the problem is, we're gonna need tons of flags for releasable nations or for event chain resulted nations, just like all the French flags are. So, tons, we just don't know which ones exacly so far.

That's true, but I think for an Alpha 0.1 we don't need all that yet.

About the French monarchists, I made this yesterday for them:

Regency.png

That'd be the picture of the Monarchist HoS ("Regency") for the duration of the Civil War until they choose their King/Emperor after the dust has settled. Does that sound like a plan?

Perfect! But I would go for an expanded "Royal Regency".

Hmm, maybe, maybe...

You asked about the Ottomans earlier - got anything interesting we could do with them? In the original they faced a revolt by the Arabs in 1938 and possibly a Greek attack, which - if it happened - usually resulted in the Ottomans losing Constantinople and collapsing via event.

Well, I see no reason why we shouldn't do the same. After all, it's all kind of logical, though I don't think Greece would just go on and attack the Turk without Britain's help. So, I see it like that: Arabs and Jews revolt a ton, Britain is like hey playa, can you stop? Ottomans is like no Greece is like hej Briten can i haz a ethnically greek territories?? Britain is like hail intervention and then they liberate ALL. Otumens collapse and Kurdistan yehhh. Yep, that's pretty much it.

BTW, here are flags. Choose one:

Here are events for capturing each of the sides' capital:

Event: Paris captured (For MF)
Les Camelots du Roi had reached the city of Paris this morning, heavy fighting commenced, but our mighty forces proved stronger. Republicans and communists escape from the city hastily, leaving lots of resources and valuables behind. As the streets and houses are cleaned of whoever disloyal to our government, our Chef, Charles Maurras, gives a speech before the victorious monarchist divisions, who fight without any fear for their land, nation, God and King. The war is not over yet, but now we are one major step closer to ending it ourselves.
Options: The capital is in our hands now!
Effects: +1500 supplies, 500 rare materials, 750 energy, 500 metal, 100 oil, 50 money, -1 IC in that province, -5 dissent

Event: Paris captured (For FCU)
The red divisions had reached the city of Paris this morning, heavy fighting commenced, but our mighty forces proved stronger. Republicans and monarchists escape from the city hastily, leaving lots of resources and valuables behind. As the streets and houses are cleaned of whoever disloyal to our government, our Chairman, Maurice Torez, gives a speech before the victorious red divisions, who fight without any fear for the ideals of liberty, equality and brotherhood. The war is not over yet, but now we are one major step closer to ending it ourselves.
Options: The capital is in our hands now!
Effects: +1500 supplies, 500 rare materials, 750 energy, 500 metal, 100 oil, 50 money, -1 IC in that province,-5 dissent

Event: Paris recaptured (Everyone)
We have recaptured the city of Paris and are in control of it again. Everything is moving, shouting, bumping as we are raising barricades and other various forms of defences, trying to hold to the streets and squares wherever possible.
Options: A) We can't let ourselves lose it again
Effects: -1 Dissent, -1 IC in Paris

Event: Paris lost (For FR)
Enemy squads can be seen from the palace towers all over Paris. For now we have lost the city, but it is in our plans to recapture it as soon as possible. Until we have lost each and every individual city, we haven't lost the war and we'll continue fighting on.
Options: A) Napoleon captured Moscow once, too
Effects: +10 dissent

Event: Paris lost (For MF and FCU)
Although previously our presence in Paris was visible, now we have lost most of its territory, our enemies successfully driving us out of the central districts. Where needed, we defend our positions, but for now our commanders decided to let it go and move to the neighbouring provinces, planning to launch a new attack in the nearest future.
Effects: A) A minor loss can't cost us the victory
Effects: +5 dissent

Event: Orleans captured (FR)
Republican divisions are as of now in control of Orleans. The city is devastated, the streets are severely damaged, but, what's best for us, there are no signs of Monarchists around. Of course, we must be wary of a possible counter-attack, but for now our soldiers celebrate -- we have pierced the beehive right through its head.
Options: A) The heart of darkness is in our hands!
Effects: -5 dissent, -1 IC, +1500 supplies, 500 rare materials, 750 energy, 500 metal, 100 oil, 50 money

Event: Orleans captured (FCU)
Red divisions are as of now in control of Orleans. The city is devastated, the streets are severely damaged, but, what's best for us, there are no signs of Monarchists around. Of course, we must be wary of a possible counter-attack, but for now our soldiers celebrate -- we have pierced the beehive right through its head.
Options: A) Red over black!
Effects: -5 dissent, -1 IC, +1500 supplies, 500 rare materials, 750 energy, 500 metal, 100 oil, 50 money

Event: Orleans recaptured (Everyone)
We have recaptured Orleans, one of the major cities in our country. It was damaged even more, closing most of the previously operating facories, which is unfortunate for our army, which intended using those as a support base for further movements.
Options: A) We can't do much here
Effects: -5 dissent, -1 IC

Event: Orleans is lost (MF)
Chef and his officers leave Orleans through one of the secret roads -- the city has been captured by our enemies and now we have to rebase somewhere down South, planning on a counterattack of some sort. Although it is unforunate, we do not lose our courage and faith in Chef, we pray to God for a victory in Orleans next time. May our faith be our shield.
Options: A) We don't lose courage. We never do
Effects: +10 dissent

Event: Orleans is lost (RF and FCU)
Our grip over Orleans has slipped and now we must leave the city to reorganise. Whether we will be capturing it again soon or not, this doesn't stop us on our way to victory. After all, it is a major point, but there are many points on the map of France.
Options: A) We will surely be back soon
Effects: +5 dissent

Event: Marseille captured (FR)
Republican troops are now stationed in Marseille. The fighting has already ceased and both the port and the residential quarters are under our control. This is a major gain, and we will give it our all to crush any attempts at taking the city from us again. The red menace is now beheaded by us.
Options: A) Law and order return to Marseille with us
Effects: -5 dissent, -1 IC, +1500 supplies, 500 rare materials, 750 energy, 500 metal, 100 oil, 50 money

Event: Marseille captured (MF)
The shots can still be heard in the distance, but today we are surely victorious -- the coastal city of Marseille, home to the widespread false communist belief, is now rightfully subjugated back into our country, proud of its ancient traditions and believing in the holy power of catholicism. Traitor purges have already started, so as to punish all those who participated in the unholy acts of the madmen.
Options: A) We will clean the red mud off of them
Effects: -5 dissent, -1 IC, +1500 supplies, 500 rare materials, 750 energy, 500 metal, 100 oil, 50 money

Event: Marseille recaptured (Everyone)
We have recaptured Marseille from our enemies. Now the factories are no longer working, and the port stopped functioning, however, not much can be done about it for as long as the enemy continues threatening our positions in the city. We have to wait.
Options: A) The port is no longer operational
Effects: -5 dissent, -1 IC

Event: Marseille is lost (FCU)
Chairman Torez leaves the city behind along with the people's commisars, as the city falls into our enemies' hands. For now we can only watch silently as they build the defences to meet us in the coming battle, but all of the workers, farmers and soldiers know better -- Marseille will soon rejoin the Union of Communes, for the spirit of socialism never dies in the hearts and minds of our people.
Options: A) Marx and Engels wish us to be back with haste
Effects: +10 dissent

Event: Marseille is lost (RF and FCU)
Holding Marseille after taking it proved to be difficult. Right now we are moving to the outskirts, trying not to get caught in the enemy ambushes and traps that have been set up for us. Once we're back with superior firepower, however, we will have no trouble not only taking the city again, but guarding it until the war is over.
Options: A) We must wait for the right moment
Effects: +5 dissent

Events for all of the other captured cities (And there are many of them) we'll be getting soon.

Yes, I actually like that flag the most, too! :D

Nice to know.

Now, it may be a bit premature to think of this at this point, but would you dear people have any thoughts on what should be on the mod's starting screen?

This

bg_start.png

was the one they had in the original mod. I kinda like the design, but maybe we could add something a bit more war-like to it as well, other than just a lone medal?

I also have an idea of my own that involves a lot of works from a French SF/fantasy artist, but I'm not sure if it would look right, at least with the name the original mod had.

The rest of the capturing events, all major cities AKA keypoint provinces. None of them are unique, unforunately, but so far I don't really recognize that a problem -- we have bigger goals at the moment:

Nice to know.

Now, it may be a bit premature to think of this at this point, but would you dear people have any thoughts on what should be on the mod's starting screen?

This

bg_start.png

was the one they had in the original mod. I kinda like the design, but maybe we could add something a bit more war-like to it as well, other than just a lone medal?

I also have an idea of my own that involves a lot of works from a French SF/fantasy artist, but I'm not sure if it would look right, at least with the name the original mod had.
Why not change the name?

Why not change the name?

Yeah, I've thought of that as well. I think we could have the text "Inspired by General_Grant's 'Peace to End All Peaces'" on the corner of the screen if we do that.
