With or without Belfast and/or Derry? Also what is their cabinet?

I'd be inclined to say "with", but I don't really know enough about the subject to answer in an educated manner. About their cabinet and government system I can say even less... wanna make suggestions?

Thinking about it, I would say 'without' just as historical unfortuantely (the 1914 Home Rule excluded the six counties after all), I don't see the British government siding with the Irish over the unionists, especially since Belfast's industry was still profitable at this time. The Dominion of Ireland would probably be unstable, with the ruling Irish Parliamentary Party being opposed by Sinn Féin and the IRB as well as the Irish Socialist Republican Party and the ICA. If the UK gets into a major war, the Dominion of Ireland could face revolt or a coup d'etat, especially if the conscription is introduced (which was one of the main reasons for the Irish War of Independence historically).

Now that actually sounds somewhat like what I had in mind...

What ideologies should the ministers have?

Ok. So I am seriously struggling with the New Deal event chain and I want to see what you all think could be done with it. I am also downloading the original mod and reinstalling HoI 2 to see if I can get some inspiration. It is just the main domestic policy event chain. One off New Deal events and flavor events I have no trouble writing, and I have a few samples here for you all to look at. I am also starting to hammer out the first major foreign policy event for the U.S. called the Hispaniola Crisis. It will actually involve all the Caribbean nations as well as the U.S. and Mexico. How it plays out will shape relations between the U.S. and Latin America for the rest of the 30s.

Name: The World Series

Description: Baseball is one of the most important pastimes in American culture, and every year the World Series brings America together to watch up to seven games between the top two performing teams in the country! This year brings yet another matchup in the greatest rivalry in the history of baseball: The Boston Red Socks and the New York Yankees. The Red Socks have had a rough year and struggled through many games in the play offs to get them here, and are viewed as the underdog in this tournament. Meanwhile, the New York Yankees, despite parting with Babe Ruth back in 1934, are still going strong, edging out the New York Giants 4-2 to bring them to the finals.

Trigger: September 30th, 1936

Name: Feeding the Hungry

Description: The Great Depression has left many people homeless and starving throughout our country, and our farmers struggle to produce enough food for our country. Although importing food from other nations has helped somewhat, our isolation and lack of general clout in the world has kept us from completely meeting our people’s needs. A handful of proposals are on the table today as to how to address the issue. Although none of the options will completely solve the issue of hunger, it could go a long way towards aiding our citizens in this trying time.

Name: Remember The Alamo! #USA

Description: Today, on the 100th Anniversary of the famous Battle of the Alamo between Mexico and The Republic of Texas, a film has debuted to the public commemorating the battle in a rather unique way. Rather than the film painting any one person or side as the ‘right’ party, the film tells of the battle from both sides of the conflict, with both Mexican and American film industries involved. Each ‘half’ of the movie was filmed in the native language of the country with the other half given subtitles for their respective releases. The project was headed by American Director William Wellman and Mexican Director Fernando de Fuentes. The famed actors Clark Gable and Domingo Soler take the respective roles of James Bowie and Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna.

Name: The Sierra Madre Casino

Description: A new casino has opened in Southern Nevada today, hoping to compete with the sprawling Las Vegas strip. Constructed by Fredrick Sinclair and headlined by singer and comedian Dean Domino, The Sierra Madre Casino has been advertised as a place for anyone to begin again, to change their fortunes. Despite some troubles getting all the pieces of the opening gala in place, the casino opened to a rather warm reception, in spite of the clouds that appeared that day. Sinclair also constructed a number of roads throughout the Mojave Desert to help potential customers reach and leave the casino.

Take your time, we're not in a hurry here. I like the stuff you have so far, will add it into the U.S. flavour event file right away.

Just a suggestion and it's not a big deal, but if you have any ideas about what the event picture on the events you post should look like let me hear them, it'd save me some time.

Ok, so the first major foreign policy event for the U.S. is going to be called The Hispaniola Crisis, and will center around a near total collapse of Haiti and The Dominican Republic. The overall idea is that the severity of the disaster might start jarring the American People and government into starting to intervene in foreign affairs. Either diplomatically or militarily. Now both Mexico and Cuba will play a role in the crisis as well, especially if the U.S. attempts to organize a joint relief effort between them. What I am presenting now is the back story, as well as a general outline of what I am thinking to do with the event chain. I might as well make sure that everyone is onboard before I take the time to write everything up.

Name: The 1936 Harvest #Haiti

Description: A tragedy has struck the country, as our farmers all reports bad harvests this year. It is not just us that have been hit hard by this tragedy, our neighbors in the Dominican Republic have suffered a similarly bad harvest, so we cannot expect any help from them. We barely have enough to get everyone through the winter and we do not have enough money in our coffers to import everything we need. If we cannot get outside help, then 1937 will be a very difficult year for our people. Many are scared, and those few who have enough money are fleeing the country to wherever they can.

Trigger: Sometime late 1936

We barely have enough to get everyone through the winter and we do not have enough money in our coffers to import everything we need. If we cannot get outside help, then 1937 will be a very difficult year for our people. Many are scared, and those few who have enough money are fleeing the country to wherever they can.

Trigger: Sometime late 1936

Options: What a disaster! Dissent +5, Industrial eff – 5%, manpower -3, setflag Famine

Name: The Hispaniola Crisis #Haiti

Description: Things have officially gone from bad to worse, early this morning, just before the sun rose, a large earthquake rocked the island of Hispaniola. Our people were already starting to starve, and now the infrastructure of our nation as well as The Dominican Republic have collapsed almost entirely. First responders in the capital are struggling to contain the fires and rescue people from the rubble. It is difficult for our government to get a handle on what is going on in our country, and it is by sheer luck that our cables to Mexico, Cuba, and the United States remain intact. We need to appeal to them for a direct intervention, or else we may face total collapse!

Trigger: Flag: Famine, sometime in April 1937.

Options:

1. “We must beg for aid!” Dissent -2, manpower -1, Setflag Haitihelp

2. There is nothing we can do! (1% chance) Dissent +15, manpower -1. #They are royally boned

Options:

1. “We must beg for aid!” Dissent -2, manpower -1, Setflag DOMhelp

2. “There is nothing we can do!” (1% chance) Dissent +15, manpower -1. #They are royally boned

1. U.S. gets reaction event first. If both flags for helping are set, then the U.S. gets two extra options, one for trying to coordinate with Mexico and Cuba on the response, and the other for sending 'aid' at the point of a gun to puppet both nations and ignore the actual problem. This last option is available if the U.S. is fascist or is imperialist. Otherwise, the two options are simply to send food aid or refuse to help.

2.Cuba and Mexico both get initial events at the same time as the U.S., but they are informational while the U.S. makes the choice to work with them. They get a second event after the choice. They can send help, ignore, or coordinate with the U.S. if they pick that option.

3.Depending on how many nations send aid, both Haiti and the Dominican Republic will get help that will reduce dissent and help fix things.

4. If all 3 nations ignore them, then Haiti and DOM can form a united Hispaniola to try and deal with the crisis. (I can make the nation for you Korsteeni)

5. If the U.S. chooses the option to work with Cuba and Mexico, not matter the outcome it will be step one to forming the major faction of the United Federation of Nations. (If we are still doing the thing where no major alliances are set at the start.

Hm, looks solid. Thank you again.

Now, I was thinking of two things:

One: maybe we could have an event of some freedom-loving American volunteers going to France to fight for the Republic?

Two: if the war goes badly for the Republic (and maybe even if it doesn't), maybe the Americans could take over the French possessions in the Caribbean (plus French Guiana possibly as well)?

Both ideas are nice, although the first one I'm not so fond of -- it creates imbalance in the civil war.

Oh, it'd be nothing too fancy, just a bit of supplies and manpower for the Republic (plus improved relations with the U.S., of course)

I can certainly write up events for those, although maybe the Brits should get a chance to seize French possessions as well if America does not bite (which AI U.S. probably won't if the civil war happens in 36.

Why yes, of course.

I'll drop everything I find in the conv. shortly. There seem to be problems with the ministers.

No need for that, I found the issue: the ministers 230007, 230008, 230009 and 230010 in ministers_vic.csv are somehow missing their retirement years. Simply open the Excel and add the year (1964 is good) to those three.
