If Skyrim and Fallout modders can add anime looking stuff into the game, then so will CK3 modders. I recall there was a FO4 mod that turned everyone into anime style (well, more like 3D anime-esque style - reminded me a bit of RWBY) so it would only be a matter of time.

Especially once Lovers Lab modders get their hands on this game.

To make a serious post here so does Bethesda games have a long tradition of 3d modding that doesn't really exist for paradox games. I think those skills are a bit rarer among paradox modders and that the people expecting day 1 elaborate ~futa mods~ or whatever might be disappointed there.

They'd have to do some work there, since genitalia are obscured, and I'm not sure that the fig leaves are moddable.

Anyone know PDX did say anything about character models moddability?

I guess there are ways to make 3d models look genuinely like my Japanese animes. Guilty Gear Xrd does an amazing job with its characters and so does Persona 5 (though Persona's 3d characters do look kinda derpy if you look too closely).

So I guess if you could implement cel shaders and custom geometry then you could potentially make an anime mod that'd look pretty authentic. You despicable weeb.

That's a true point, which is why I don't expect to see anime mods for a while. Of course, one cannot underestimate the modding capabilities of people who are into this thing.

well you wouldn't have to import new models or textures for Orks, Elves or Dwarves. Since they are all Humanoid, it would be easy enough to just exaggerate the values that determine character appearance and set it scale of ranges as an ethnicity, using their new ethnicity system for characters that are spawned in for cultures. the most you will need to mod or replace is a colour selection for non-human skin colours, so green, grey, red, etc.

But for an anime model or non-humanoid characters, you will most definitely need to import new models, animations and textures.

Perhaps they're thinking that orcs (in particular) are sufficiently varied from human they'll need a whole new model?

Elf could be done in most cases as human + ears + skin tone, but Orc and Dwarves (depending on source material of course) might be too far out to just use exagerrated human values. Certainly with Games Workshop Orcs it'd be difficult to work them from a human mesh.

Also, this remind me we need a CK3 Lux Invicta which somehow gave me better antiquity experience in CK2 than Imperator had in dedicated game
