I'm an EuIII and sometime HoI and Crusader kings player but haven't yet tried Victoria. Will I like it? Discuss.

Yes you will like it. I got into paradox games through HoI, then Victoria, and well HoI2 was just far too bizarre for me after I had become accustomed to Vicky gameplay (plus it is just retarded!). Vicky is host to the most interesting century the world has ever seen (perhaps). It is based on economy and gaining economical resources (as is historially true) as opposed to gaining strategic cities as in HoI.
Vicky is the best Paradox game... the only thing it lacks is a decent tutorial... if it had that... then there would be more of a fan base that understood the game mechanics, and thus more of a dedicated interest in this game from the developers. Vicky only lacks interest from it's creators... all our hopes are pinned to the VIP team and OHgamer's work over various (speculated) expansions.
Also... all of the moderators are decent!

Worth buying? Yes. Will you like it? Maybe.
The economic and political model is the most complex of any Paradox games, while the military model is simpler than in HoI (I don't know about EU3). If you have the stamina to climb the steep learning curve, you'll probably like it.

It is definitely worth buying, since it is the best Paradox game. (mind you, my favourites are Victoria and EU2, and I'm not necessarily a big fan of EU3)
It is a complicated game and takes time and effort to understand, which is necessary if you want to enjoy the game. Therefore be prepared for frustration at times, but it is worth every bit of time that you will put into it. You should get just Victoria first of all and play it until you feel you are ready to get the Revolutions add-on, or at least that would be my advice.

Best game ever created.
I seriously recommend it. Once you get into it (and it is a steep learning curve, mind), you'll find it insanely difficult to stop. I've been playing for five years now.

There are some who came from other Paradox games and hated it, others loved it. You won't know until you try it yourself.
Thanks guys. I'm not afraid of a steep learning curve (I dont think!) Looks like it might be worth giving this a go. I'm a History graduate and love all things historical, that's why I like EU2/EUIII so much. Looks like I'll be trying this out....
