Worth buying HOI2, considering this is coming out?

I saw HOI2 today for $20AU (which is very cheap down here ,) but resisted the impulse buy, as I remembered that this is out soon.

Since my impression is that this game will be "HOI2 2.0," is it worth buying HOI2 so close to AOI's release? Or should I wait?

I'd say... Wait. This is indeed HoI2 2.0, and it makes little sense to buy an inferior version when an expanded one is on it's way... And soon.

AoD is a Standalone Addon, so you won´t need to buy vanilla HoI 2

If you're a video game collector...yes. If you're average Joe/Tommy/Fritz/Ivan who wants a nice wargame to play once in a while...no.
