Here is a Light Tank division quill18 made:

As you can see it's quite weaker! Probably due to the lack of artillery, infantry and support units.

Also the Division takes its unit icon from the first combat battalion that you add. So if you added a light tank battalion it will have a light tank icon.

If that's only 30 tanks per light tank battalion, the manpower is way overstated. I'd say only 300 men per tank battalion plus 1000 each for the infantry, giving a total of 3,800. 60 tanks with 600 men per light tank battalion would be better. With 360 tanks and 5600 men you'd have the core of an early war British armoured division. It would just need 2 art bns and small mot AT, mot AA & Mot Eng support elements.

yeah. in HOI3 it was called strength, but in hoi4 we rate an *active* division on "combat strength" which has more components, so we needed to differentiate it.

also yeah, we are aware that tank counts and manpower are wierd, its not been balanced yet

I have been figuring as much for what I have been seeing in game play videos & screenshots so I have not concerned myself with values at this point. I am much more interested in how things work than just how many trucks in a battalion or the number of men in a division or how powerful a tank is.

It's good to know the equipment and manpower counts are still being worked on. I've studied WW2 for about 20 years with a particular emphasis on TOEs/WEs and OOBs if you'd like any help putting together historical templates and OOB's.

"Combat Strength" sounds better than Hit Points.

So which are combat units and which support. From what we've seen so far it looks like you can attach both towed ART and AT units to infantry divisions and im assuming the same would go for towed AA. Now following this example i'm assuming SPART / AA and TD are also support units which can only be added to a mobile combat units like Mot INF / Mec Inf / Tanks we just never got verification of this through a screen shot. This may be an assumption though with TD which may be considered combat units, if so it will change how you construct combat units using them. Could also open up the possiblity to have TD 3D models.

Support artillery are a + symbol.

Im not talking about support artillery im talking about adding artillery to regiments inside your division makeup like Northerlion did in spades to his infantry division plan.

Divisional support artillery is a different beast alltogether.

Actually not true; the symbol for a division is based on which type of battalion seems to be the dominant one.

The artillery in the support column does not add combat width whereas artillery added to the regiment columns does. That crazy Russian division would have a combat width of 20.

Also, the support ART only cost 6 artillery in equipment, whereas the combat artillery battalions cost 12 each.
