Can someone explain to me why Kongo is tech 2 while Nagato is tech 1? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVED everything I saw, but that just irked me personally. Nagato had better guns, better armor, slightly lower speed, and was built after Kongo. Why was Kongo selected for tech 2?

The hisorical accuracy has been pretty sketchy for all of the ships right now, hopefully we can expect some changes to that before release. They have plenty of time after all.

Yeah, they do have three months and the art isn't finished, so Kongo could be a place holder and they can still change it. I really hope they do. I guess I shouldn't be so nit picky when the game we're getting looks so fantastic.

It's a concern that you should bring up though, after all, they won't fix it if they don't realize an error.

I mean not much more I can do other than post in this thread.. unless I PM a dev, which I don't want to do. Unless you have a suggestion.
Let's just wait untill we have one month prior to release, then we ask a general question regarding tier and artwork issues. If they say everything is okay, and you don't agree with that,we just open a thread and everybody throws their issues there. So PDX will have a chance to look into it.

The Japanese vs Chinese casualties were shockingly one-sided with only 1k lost for the Japanese. Were those Chinese divisions lacking full stocks of weapons?

I saw at least 6 divisions destroyed in a pocket, just before they gone offline.

I get that the guard area is a useful tool, but wouldn't you achieve the same by placing them manually in cities and ports? For me it is just an auto tool that does not give a bonus?

It is an on going mission. So not only they will go guard the cities and ports, but they will also move to defend against small invasions and suppress rebellion.

Where did you even see Nagato-class battleships? Fuso-class were the T1 ones in the tech tree.

Well... that could still work, since the Nagato is a variant. A heavily upgraded tier I battleship would be stronger than a tier II battleship.
That said, I don't think it makes any sense. Fuso and then Kongo? What are they thinking? Both the original and the modernized Fuso is more modern and better (except for speed) than the Kongo. I can't understand that decision. Maybe it makes sense if you look at the base stats and how the variant system works. I really can't imagine that this is a research problem, you can literally just go to wikipedia and look for three minutes to see the problem.

this WWW should just be the tutorial for the game, very constructive clear and going over a lot of facts and game mechanics except more advanced ones (advanced air and naval warfare)

Hi guys!

14:30CET - Twitch livestream - https://www.twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive

As usual, the stream will be available in the Twitch archives right after. And we'll upload it to Youtube tomorrow.

As usual, in daytime here the link goes to worst wedding Wednesday (actually, now it's a Stellaris stream).

Does someone have a link to the archives? Usually I would wait for Youtube to run it at half speed but this one promises to be easier to follow the details. Thanks.

@Da9L Total newb question, I imagine: In minute 39 of the stream you discussed the standard frontline division and made a comment touching on how they operating on a 3x4 scheme. What exactly does that mean and what makes or breaks an optimum scheme?

Really like the WWW, and nice it will continue for at least one more week,

I just wanted to point two things I noticed in the navy in case it's a mistake (if it was intended, then please ignore):

CL Kuma being Tenryu-class even thought the starter Kuma-class variant exists
CA Nachi being Furutaka-class even thought the starter Myokyo-class variant exists

Kongo being base tech 2 is likely because they got their second remodel at around 36 being reclassified at BB, and at that moment tech wise their most modern BBs. You notice that Hiei isn't even a starter ship because it got that remodel quite later than the other 3.

Nagato and Mutsu are a variant (Nagato-class) which may have better FP and Armor than the BB tech 2.

If possible I would like to see what are the stats for the Japan starter variants on the next part.
