World Revolution - Commune of France AAR

1gqf.jpg

Now that I got your attention with the World Revolution cat. My new AAR shall be a Syndicalist one after Canada, actually there will be two but the another one needs some setting up before it can be revealed. So as the title may tell you this is about Commune of France and their desire to be the beacon of World Revolution trough peaceful means, or by brutal force if necessary. There will be no white flags this time! Those flags will be seen from the bourgeois and even they are red because of all the blood. There is only one goal: get as many nations to turn Syndicalist/Socialist and all the revolting Syndicalist nations to win their wars. We will not submit to Soviet Union if they win because France shall lead the Internationale. Maybe in the end we will get revenge on Germany and perhaps destroy the Entente. But there is a catch, as a benevolent leader of the revolution I must liberate nations where ever I don't get event that gives me claim to the lands.

Prologue
State of the World

The Third Republic ended in the way it began: defeated by German arms, and facing Communist Revolution at home. In the November of 1919 a revolutionary General Strike was called by the CGT, paralysing the country and causing the downfall of the bourgeois government. ‘The Party of Order’ was not strong enough to put an end to the unrest and in the following months the ‘Establishment’ were forced out of France by a coalition of leftist forces in a brief but brutal civil war. For the past 15 years the self styled ‘Commune of France’ has united behind a common platform of Syndicalist-Socialist consensus, headed by the ruling Comit? de Salut Public. However, by 1936 the consensus that was resolved to rebuild the shattered country and defend the fruits of revolution from foreign menace is deemed as outdated by many critics, and there is a growing call for more radical policies. France is increasingly confident in its security and in its mission, but the French revolutionary tradition is varied, and it is unclear precisely which strands shall become dominant in the years to come…

Friends and Allies

Commune of France (That's us)
France_zps42ff71cd.jpg

This is the current cabinet of our glorious Republic. Led by Sébastien Faure and Marceau Pivert we have begun rebuilding our nations economy and army. The Great War and the revolution left us crippled and now in order to survive we need a strong economy and a strong army to counter the German Empire in case they decide to attack us. But we also need strong allies, Socialistic allies all around the world and thus several diplomats have been send all over the world to spread our word in nations most suspectable to the revolution. Diplomatic means to weaken our enemies are the only ones that will be useful to us at the moment. But all is not well in the government as there is much criticism about Pivert and his cabinet, there is rumor of calling a new election. Might be that we need to send them in to May's dungeon where we keep enemy spies. She likes leather. Maybe she is a German spy?

Union of Britain
UoB_zps1da144da.jpg

On the British Isles lies our close friend the Union of Britain led by Philip Snowden and Arthur Horner. While we follow the Syndicalist path they have adopted more Radical Socialism and there is talk about Mosley wanting to become Totalist. Even though we are not allied we still keep close relations for us being the only two leading beacons of the revolution. We are just little worried about the possibility of Britain becoming isolated. Their navy is what we need in case of German attack.
CabinetUoB_zps569636b3.jpg

Socialist Republic of Italy
Italy_zps4438dd60.jpg

Then there is our little ally in southern Italy. They are Syndicalist as we and they are led by Palmiro Togliatti and Antonio Gramsci. Their economy is poor and their army weak but they are useful to us because they prevent the Italian Federation and those who desire all of Italy from gaining it. But The Socialist Republic of Italy also desires an unified Italy under their rule and we are their means to achieve it but we have to be careful as any attempts to take Northern Italy would result in German intervention.
CabinetIta_zpsc7ea20cb.jpg

Bhartiya Commune
India_zpscc614ac6.jpg

Socialism has it's place in Indian Subcontinent too. For there we have friends in Bhartiya Commune. They dream of India but aren't able to control it all because of the evil subjects of Entente in Delhi and Princely Federation. We are not allied to them but we hope to gain their trust.
CabinetIndia_zps7fdbbfd1.jpg

Mexico
Mexico_zps16d5ba22.jpg

Mexico. Ay Caramba! Another Radical Socialist nation that we call friend. Led by Emiliano Zapata and Vincente Lombardo Toledano. Beacon of Socialism in America besides Jack Reed. Mexico is going to be an important partner to us if we want to spread Syndicalism to the Americas. But there is troubling news about Zapata's health and this could lead to trouble. A prominent opponent of the socialism is Heriberto Jara Corona, he follows the ways of capitalism together with Plutarco Elias Calles and they could overthrow the government. But our savior might be Pancho Villa the leader of the Secret Police and Internal Security. Though he is an Totalist he could secure Mexico for us in case the Right Wing movement tries to overthrow the legal government.
CabinetMex_zpsbcc0267c.jpg

Centroamerica
CentroAmerica_zpse4ac6926.jpg

Centroamercia. Small but determined nation just south of Mexico. Led by Jose Manuel Fortuny and Victor Manuel Gutiérrez they are friends too. While Mexico has no interest in central america, Centroamerica has a desire to control all of it all the way to the border of Colombia. They are going to need a lot of help to do it but maybe if they follow our lead we will help them.
CabinetCentro_zpsebcd0457.jpg

Other than that we have friends inside other nations such like Jack Reed and the Combined Syndicalist of America in the United States. CNT-FAI in Spain, even though they are more of an anarchist group we still consider them to be an friend to the World Revolution. And then there is the Bolsheviks in Russia, they are very extreme and we must thread carefully with them. Of course there are many political parties all around the world that we support but them we cannot support that much.

What the hell is a Right-wing "socialist" like Snowden doing as President of a radical socialist Britain? That's KR for you...

Enemies of Socialism

German Empire (The Satan himself, The Devil, Beelzebub the Evil of them all)
Germany_zps7b781a2a.jpg

Here it is the one true enemy, with capitalism of course being the big enemy. German Empire ruled by the Kaiser himself. They are the reason why Syndicalism hasn't spread all over the world. German influence is felt in Africa, Asia and Europe. Everyone is afraid of them. They control most of Europe, they have leverage in almost every corner of the world and thus they need to be destroyed. But their army is great along side with their navy and air force. We must approach trough espionage and diplomacy, weaken them from inside and take their allies away from them. And in the end they will fall and we will have our revenge.
CabinetGer_zpsdc5017e4.jpg

Austro-Hungarian Empire (Too afraid to take their rightful place as the only German speaking nation, thus lapdogs of Germany)
Austria_zps4783f929.jpg

And here is the Austrians, loyal lapdogs of German Kaiser, even though they claim to be an Empire. They control another part of Europe, the Balkans. Also they have a desire for Italy. They want one of their puppet dukes to rule there so they can abuse the Italian people. This must be stopped.
CabinetAustria_zps29843a27.jpg

Italian Federation or the Papacy
Italy_zps47a7af9f.jpg

Italian Federation ruled by the Pope and his minions in College of Cardinals. They control the northern part of Italy as well as Corsica and Sardinia. Not really a big threat but they are weak and Austria has their eyes on Italy as a Catholic priest has his eyes on a choir boy. Also our friends in the South would like to see the Pope and his nation destroyed.
CabinetEvilIta_zps375879fc.jpg

Russia
Russia_zpsdf0f6f84.jpg

Russia, the once mighty empire is now reduced to an Republic like state where everyone thinks the other party is lying and nobody trusts each other. Kerensky has been the president since the fall of the Empire and the end of the civil war. But his term is coming to an end and there are many vultures aiming to get his position. One of them being Anton Denkin, the Hero of the Civil War. He is not the only one and the neighbors of Russia also would like to have a piece of those steppes. Also the Bolsheviks are still in there waiting for the right moment to rise again and bring socialism to Russia. But we shall see what happens there.
CabinetRussia_zps476946b1.jpg

National France (Traitors)
NationalFrance_zpsb2b98a17.jpg

National France. Traitos! Scum! Unwilling to accept the warmth of Syndicalism Petain and his goonies seized the African colonies and declared it as National France. And guess what? They still want our land, the main land. We need to keep an eye on them incase they get any wild ideas and try to land in southern France.
CabinetNatFran_zpsdea59a2f.jpg

Canada (The Entente leader)
Canada_zps43bc594d.jpg

Here is Canada, remnant of the old British Empire and the leader of Entente. After losing British Isles they retreated to Canada where they established themselves as rulers and started oppressing the poor Canadians. Their closest allies are Delhi, Australasian Confederation, Caribbean Federation and National France. All these are weak but if they are left alone they might get stronger. Also King George is sick and the heir Edward is unpredictable. Canada is divided between the Prime Ministers supporters who wish to build Canada a better placae and the British who want to return to London. We should weaken them by trying to snatch their allies.
CabinetCan_zps10aad94a.jpg

United States of America
USA_zpsabdda83e.jpg

What a mess. Ruled by Herbert Hoover and the Republicans. There is so much tension between the Government, CSA and Huey Long. A powder keg waiting for the one spark ,the all spark that will cause an explosion so big that it will change America for ever. We have nothing against them but they are incompetent to rule and thus Jack Reed and CSA would be a better choice. There are elections coming soon so maybe the people will see the truth.
CabinetUSA_zpsd9c50e59.jpg

From what I understand Snowden ran the Independent Labour Party in Britain. That was a pretty far-left movement from what I know, so how was he 'Right-Wing'?

He did run it, but only for 3 years. Although initially quite Socialist, when he went into government he considerably moderated - his budget as Chancellor of Exchequer was described as very Gladstonian.

Fall of Pivert

Oswald Molsey of the Union of Britain has invited the leader of the Sorelians, Georges Valois, to Birmingham to discuss the common ground between their ideologies. Valois has thanked him for the invite and set off 6th of January in the name of internationalism, bringing with him as guests the Hungarian exiles Tibor Szamuely and Matyas Rakosi, whose views are very much in the line with Mosley's and Mussolini's. Six days later Valois returned and told us that he and the others had signed a Totalist Charter describing a common ground for their believes.
ValoistSubmits_zpsdac5b00f.jpg

After the successful organization of Syndicalist Congress on May, the Pivert administration meta vote of no confidence as many had criticized them for lack of support for the German trade unions. The opposition got what they wanted and the Pivert was forced to resign. His duties will be assumed by Comite de Salut Public until the results of the elections are in.

Chapter 1: Plans
Elections

If you are reading this it means my comrades and I together with cabinet are dead. I ask you not to judge us by our action until you have read this and understood the reasons behind our recent actions. For we were there from the begining and have seen it all and how it became to change. Hopefully our action and this text will support our cause and help the people to free themselves, to continue the fight for bettter world where every man and woman is equal and no one is oppressed by the government or church. We thought we were creating this kind of world but instead we helped it to become far worse. But now I have to go to the begining to the elections in 1936 where it all became.

It was January 23th 1936, cold morning as usual, when we heard the news from the commanding officer of 3éme Div. Légére de Cavaliere. I know the name sounds fancy but the unit was actually full of misfits and criminals, even political criminals like me. What I mean by "political criminal" is that I didn't follow any of the ideologies in the political spehere, I wasn't a syndicalist but I wasn't a capitalist either. I was just a bank robber, a failed one as I was here. They gave me a choice either to go in jail or serve in the army. Well I choose the army because we all heard what it was like in the prison in this nation. Army life was better and in the time of peace, what was there to be afraid of. All this happened because I was younger than the rest of the group that got arrested. Only eighteen, actually I was seventeen at the time of my capture but now I'm eighteen. This unit of misfits and criminals, this is the unit that no one cares and when a war comes we are the ones to be send on those crazy missions where you are not even expected to come back and or even be successive.

But about the news. Yeah the Pivert administration had been voted out and new elections had started to choose another administration. There were lots of talk about how the Jacobins and Travailleurs were fighting among each other to gain power instead of thinking the good of the nation. The first matter that we heard them to vote on was the fate of the Communal Army, fate of us. Who would be put in charge of our leadership. They chose Paul Le Gentihomme. A fanatical supporter of tanks and armored warfare. Well I guess that was a good thing.
Election1_zps742d784e.jpg

Few days later more news about the elections came in as we were returning from our exercises. They had chosen Albert Camus, an anarchist as the Director of the Comite de Reinseignements Generaux. An anarchist? Can you believe that. Those were the people who wanted to get rid of the government and embrace anarchy. But I think there was a bigger plan in motion where every side had to be pleased.
Election2_zps3b51d223.jpg

In January 29th they voted for the Director of Internal Security. That post went to the Sorelian General Marcel Bucard. We were told that now all the parties except the Jacobins held a position in the government. Were the Jacobins too radical?
Election3_zps0c8e8097.jpg

Apparently now as Jean Jerome, a prominent Jacobin was elected to supervise the economy. Jerome wanted to industrialize the nations economy. Well you cant produce guns on the fields, so his choice was the right one but you cant forget that soldiers need food in their bellies too.
Election4_zps05a8cd4d.jpg

The last position to be filled was the Director of Foreign Affairs. This one went to an Jacobin too. Marcel Cachin the World Revolutionarits. He wanted to support all socialist parties in the world to gain power. A noble thought.
Election5_zpsfa997811.jpg

Well it took them three days to figure out that no majority had been reached so the Assembly had to elect a new chairman to the compromise cabinet. Camarade Guerin was elected. Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah! Elections were over.

A new AAR by Ike, marvelous! :)

Show of Force

The news after the elections were quite dull for couple of weeks. What I can recall is that there was a story about a dog that found a boy who had fallen in to a well and that's all I can remember. So most of our time went in exercises and playing card or going to movies. But in March the news started to get interesting again. There was apparently a coup of some sort in Australasian Confederation after the death of Stanley Bruce and the victor of the coup had been the Populist Party whose leader was a guy called Curtin. Was it Charles or George, nobody ever told us. It wasn't until these news that there started to be political talks in our regiment. Rumor was that there had been French spies trying to overthrow the Australasian government but they had failed. Of course these were only rumors.
PopulistCOup_zps20be19c0.jpg

Union of Britain was on the move too. Reports said that they had moved their fleet towards Ireland to scare them off and we were told that the Irish had been too scared to even contact others and had just continued drinking indoors. What we don't know is how the Canadians or Germans felt about this show of force by UoB. Probably weren't too happy.
ShowOfForce_zps78aee84c.jpg

Finally good news! The Third International is going to be held after May Day this year. In Paris! What that means is that there will be a lot of different parties from every corner of the world and with them there is a lot of foreign socialist women in Paris too. Hopefully we will get to visit Paris on leave. Maybe hook up with some Russian or Italian socialistic girls. But with my luck I'm on guard duty on that day.
