Anyone remember this scenario from Civ II: Fantastic Worlds? (remember, back when they created a Civ game that actually had a decent scenario editor :mad: )

It would be great if someone could create a scenario like this for Victoria. Some sort of Victorian sci-fi number that really blows the game wide open with crazy events, units, and technology.

I'd play it :cool:

I thought of that scenario, too. :)

Would take a lot of event scripting, tech editing, and very likely graphical editing. But surely an interesting mod idea, and one that I would like to see come to life. :)

Alien inventions, steampunk, and lovecraft-ish nonsense oh my. :p

It certainly would be a fun side mod if a few people threw around some ideas once the game comes out. It's a bit early to start talking about it now though.

I do! That became my favorite Civ II mod. Mad scientists, a barbarian Captain Nemo and The Nautilus raiding the oceans, sea monsters and building a First Men in the Moon end game. Just a great Civ II mod. (And the era is sort of why I'm looking forward to Vic.) The sprites in the Verne mod were very cool, too.

One aspect about the Verne mod was that it also incorporated some H. G. Wells with a War of the Worlds event.

Yes, someone should explore this as a mod. The world of Jules Verne could be a very deep and engrossing mod for Victoria.

I too really liked the Jules Verne scenario of Civ II. Since Vic plays in that era we definitely need such a mod. :)
