Sure, but USSR is disproportionally strong.

I don't mind mind-boggling odds or unrealistic challenges, but it has to be consistent. USA and USSR shouldn't inevitably overwhelm the planet by 1943. For example, as Germany it's almost as easy as vanilla to defeat France and UK, and it seems that Soviets have been given megabuffs to compensate. It would be far more fun if they were all moderately buffed, as opposed to SU getting steroids to compensate for the Western allies' weakness.

Strange because is find France harder than in previous versions and Soviet Union as a cakewalk.. Even implemented earlier ToraToraTora version AI events where SU get ton of free units to make it more enjoyable.

I could take Paris in 30 days without breaking much of a sweat... then paratroop 2 guys to Exeter and land loads of 18 divisions in England by August 1940 and face at most 30 British divisions in UK, all for a total of 500,000 casualties and no divisions lost. Soviets, however, start pushing me back by September 1941 even after losing almost 100 divisions and 4 million soldiers.

IDK, perhaps i'm just doing it wrong.

Strange, my WiF stopped working and I can't seem to reinstall it. Is there some trick to applying the mod that I've forgotten? I seem to be missing files for the light carrier.
Make a copy of Darkest Hour Full, rename it to whatever the folder WiF 2 is named, then copy/paste what you downloaded into your newly made copy. At least that's what I had to do when I still played WiF 2.

When can I expect bitter peace? It's December 1941 and I've held Leningrad, Moscow, and Stalingrad for a few months now. If this keeps up I'll have to go to Vladivostok.

Uh... it should have fired a long time ago. Can you check the log to see whether Stalin refused to surrender (the event is called "Sue for peace with the Germans" on the Soviet side, I think)? If he has not, you should fire it manually via the console.

Is there an easy way to check the log? There are dozens of entries for each day.

Hello I would like to indicate a bug in the WiF mod with the China Nanjing puppet when created with the event of surrender or when releashed manually.
This is random, sometimes it happens and sometimes not, but when I realeased it, it had no cores on its provinces, only claims which not only gave him 3 IC but also provoked rebellions EVERY SINGLE WEEK !
OK for the dissent but this is too much for representing the partisan resistance against japanese domination.

Hi,

I own Darkest Hour through GOG (Version 1.4) and I have lots of troubles installing any mod.

I followed the instructions for WiF2 but when the game starts up I get the message that I am missing "light_carrier.txt" in my db/units/... folder. I was looking through my folders, and indeed that file is not in the mentioned folder. I was looking a little bit further and in the Mods/Darkest Hour Full folder I can locate the missing file. What am I supposed to do? Copy every missing file from the Darkest Hour Full mod folder into the base folder of Darkest Hour, or is it just that the version 1.4 does not support most mods anymore? It seems like as if a path is wrong, that the files, which are required, actually exist in the Darkest Hour Full folder, and the game keeps looking in the base directory.

I have seen other people encountering the same issue but I could not find any solution to that problem yet.

Maybe reading the instructions helps (sorry, couldn´t resist :)).

You have to copy your DH Full folder (into the Mods Folder) and rename that (new DH Full) folder to WIF II or whatever you want. Then you copy the unzipped files into that renamed folder. This should work, at least it did for me.

Hello all.I've been trying to play germany in normal/normal and am looking for advice on the buildup to the war.
I have enacted partial mobilization on the eve of Munich, was i right to do so at peace? It seems to greatly increase the cost of production...Should i wait for war in order to mobilize?
Also when should i start building units? I have buit IC up to summer 1938, is it too late?

Thanks in advance.

Quick question on surrender events; is there a similar system to new world order which simulated the fall of britain and other nations? Would I have to occupy every single uk territory to trigger a surrender as opposed to just occupying the mainland?

No, it is sufficient to occupy the Isles to trigger the "Breaking of the Empire" event chain.

Germany seems to have much less IC in this last version...I've got 370 after the conquest of Poland.I built IC until first half of 1938, and partially mobilized just before the Anchluss.RUssia is at 560 in peacetime.

From what i've read onn various forums, german IC was lowered as were soviet free units.

I have a question for IGGEL if he reads this: how did you manage to get such an early victory in the east? Could you share some tips?
