Honestly in general i think the supply consumption should be doubled, and it should be higher too for the armored units. That would seriously put a stop to division spam, at least army bloating. The ai does take into account available ic for production and rest spent on maintenance.

Just to add some fuel to the fire:

I recently finished up a campaign playing SSSR with current version of DH 1.04 WIF2, tried to play as historical as possible.Seriously the amount of IC germany has is obscene and not just that.

1) Declates war in may 1939-beats up Poland + takes Strasburg from France and slowly grinds it down (there was a complaint against that recently, forts=useless)- I unfortunately signed M-R pact early. AI went apeshit probably because of this.

2) When finally 1940 Attacking the west decision fires, Germany has a serious advantage in everything already. IC is around 450/360 and France(what´s left) and Britain have IC around 350 together. Having no serious military against Germany.

3) Germany attacks me in 1941 june(ok with that) it has effective IC of almost 650 ( with Speer still coming in ´42) I don´t even have half that. It outnumbers me in everything + events that make me loose airforces, hamper my combat ability and IC maluses that go off to late.

4)Now I liked the challange but since DH is quite IC and number based, you simply cannot go against almost 1.5 number seperiority, 2x the planes and almost 30 Panzer divisions + allies, in a current setting. I know it´s partly WIF2 event based stuff, but by playing DH 1.04 vanilla it´s even worse.

5)I didn´t play gamey or used militia+infantry spam early on so I was expecting a fight here, yet I was overwhelmed in early 1942 in basically everything. I don´t dislike the challenge just to note that playing Germany as a human right now, is pointless, you can dominate everything.

Only difference is that SU AI gets some free units, hardly enough though to stop the tide, also some morale boosts. But those are not much against the Germans.

Combat wise: Also, seems to me that armies do not loose organization when moving as much as before. Noticed it in China and with Soviets, this helps Germany tremendously in the East. It´s already strong, but this helps when crossing those hundreds of miles.
Armies tend to get destroyed by encirclement a lot more often I think that further causes collapse in the East, positive thing is that AI does encircle or tries it a bit more.

no IC/ tech takeover
no free wars

Really like this, having 300 div. combined army should cost you most of your IC potential to even keep it running, never mind the upgrades.

I wonder what is causing all this, as they can keep up their massive army up to date even or ahead of the time ^^ I like challenge too, id love to do WiF US invasion of Europe, but entire Allied IC pool is lower than what Germany has and frankly, to produce 400+ divisions to combat that, im better off making nukes and just, well probably still losing but ...

Novapaddy, I'll let you in on a little wise Finnish wisdom: it's easier and faster to just do something and ask for forgiveness later than it is to wait and ask for a permission. Go for it, give credit where credit is due and if the original mod makers shun your shenannigans just pull it off the net. Make your own offshoot modification and make it amply clear, that you are only tweaking something someone else made.

IC limits are simply too alowing for Germany, I think slightly more so now. Germans should not be able to match US IC at any given time, unless they have entire Europe + defeated SSSR. Even then I am sceptical, IC modifiers are too high for them as it is. Such a high IC output so quicky is not feasible IRL.

Have you included the changes of the most recent beta? IIRC FT had tackled several of those problems. GER would only receive 5$ instead of 10$ with "Peace time economy". Additonally there was an IC-building penalty during peace times. And of course there was the restriction that you can only trade techs with your allies.

I hope you mean DH1.04 beta. Then yes, I am using wif2 inside DH1.04.

If not, where is this beta ?

I almost have it done, but will be tomorrow before I can post it. Am just polishing it and testing it now. Have to go out later... shock! actually leave the house!...

Yeah, it gets crazy fast basically like 50% plus production bonus. Now thats ok if Germany doesn´t have IC base of 500+ in 1940, then we have a problem, US usually has a similar thing going IC base around 600-700 and since it uses public works it gets to central planning +25IC as well. Now I am not sure if these decisions didn´t get changed a bit for certain regimes but US should have free market economy
(with it´s + and - as it´s now implemented).

It´s not even matter of upgrading now, they just built new units so quick that with superior tech you can´t get edge on them thus clearing any advantage of full market with such IC bases. I hope you mean DH1.04 beta. Then yes, I am using wif2 inside DH1.04.

If not, where is this beta ?

I almost have it done, but will be tomorrow before I can post it. Am just polishing it and testing it now. Have to go out later... shock! actually leave the house!...

No, actually I meant post #2436, but it seems to be same as on page one. Still, something with DH 1.04 seems to meddle with the last version as mentioned above. But I´m sure you will get things going :)

Yeah, it gets crazy fast basically like 50% plus production bonus. Now thats ok if Germany doesn´t have IC base of 500+ in 1940, then we have a problem, US usually has a similar thing going IC base around 600-700 and since it uses public works it gets to central planning +25IC as well. Now I am not sure if these decisions didn´t get changed a bit for certain regimes but US should have free market economy
(with it´s + and - as it´s now implemented).

It´s not even matter of upgrading now, they just built new units so quick that with superior tech you can´t get edge on them thus clearing any advantage of full market with such IC bases. That and US coming in too late to change the tide. Would be worth it to curb those IC bonuses that GER receives after war progresses a bit.

Indeed, US on full central should like switch to commies :D and you are right on the more units > less units with one tech ahead. It just wont do.

I have GER working very well. I'm just concentrating on trying to sort out SOV, so they are more balanced and historical, to give the player an AI SOV better challenge.... YET still stay true what FT wanted, or at least what I think he wanted.

No, I've only been working on WIF2 "vanilla". I thought it was only "dr bobs gameplay events", which are still in, but on closer look, he also has AI.
I've had a quick look at his files, lots of them and some I have already changed myself. ... DARN!

As you say it would be worthwhile to include it... will delay things, but yes I'll add his AI, will have to be added to vanilla...

He has 42 AI files.
He has 108 ai/switch files.

not to mention the events and scenario files...

I've looked at them and NO it would be just too much work, AND they are not even updated for DH1.04..

It would not take much to cause the game to crash if he has something in there that I'm not aware of, the game would crash, and I'd never understand why, so sorry!

He will have to update and add his stuff to whatever fixes I'm doing here, OR totally ignore what I'm doing, whatever.
