William looks nothing like he's reputed to - nothing at all like a Norman, in fact.

I dunno, he's got quite a pronounced nose tip and fairly defined cheekbones. Looks like a guy who came from a couple centuries of mixing Scandinavians with Franks to me.

I'm not talking about the structure of his face but his hair and beard. If you're going to take the time to actually do DNA and cosmetics for historical characters - which I do appreciate, and it's no easy task - then it makes sense to at least be authentic about it. The Norman aristocracy simply did not look like that at all. You can look up depictions of William if you want, but Normans as a rule were clean-shaven and had short, cropped hair - they didn't look like French kings from 19th century portraits, which seems to be the style Paradox are emulating.

Ah, I see what you're going at now. Yeah, that's a reasonable complaint. Though it's something easily fixed, fortunately. Load up a 1066 game, bring up the editor, save the DNA, then paste it over William's DNA as a new mod. I may do it myself, now that you've mentioned it.

It's not a great screenshot and it's only a small portrait, but the general look (red-faced, short hair) is far more realistic than the one posted above which is supposedly William.

They've gone backwards with his representation.
