Hey... first post here, but I've been around for several months reading posts here and there, and finally I am immersed in this great game. I'm still relatively new to the game and the mod, just a simple questions: why does it take Germany 1095 days to research Worker Efficiency 1? Most of the AI countries are done with it during the first months of the game. Is this a bug?

Also, a question that doesn't pertain to this mod..how can I convert a ship like pre-war battle cruisers into transport duty? I remember seeing it before but can't find that button anymore. I'm playing 1.04 with Stony Hard/Agressive/Hard. Thanks in advance and thanks to N!ghty.

the other countries get an event called Worker efficiency improvements 1, this gives them some industrial techs.

they basically get a hellaload of industrial techs, increasing their IC, so they'll put up more of a fight.

Ok, i checked, most countries only get industry-improvements 1, and the prereqs, china however, get a lot more.

Only troop transports can become convoy transports and destroyers can become convoy escorts. When you click on those divisions there will be a 'send on convoy duty' or 'send on escort duty' button under the unit stats.

This tech was added by nighty in the beginning of this mod to allow the allies to gain an advantage over Germany. The tech is available to the German player but at a very high cost. It used to be a lot less but that kinda unbalenced the game so Nighty decided to make it cost a lot more.

I usually have it early 39.

It is a decision I make, I could use the IC to research other stuff, but I want the increased capacity.

Sure it hinders German progress, but then again we do not travel the Stony Road because we want an easy ride. ;)

No i dont :) Like muad said its a desicion you make and i always go for w 1, the higher levels i wont research.

Well, i will try to find another way to complete my weapons program before reach June 1939 (never waste any IC) but i really love smash poland and frence with my Panzergruppe´s equiped with Panzer IV 70mm +E :D under command of Rommel, Guderian, Manstein and Von Jaman (yes yes von Jaman, Ouden betrayed Germany and will stay at Colditz jejeje).

I'm used to the 3 year wait for Worker Efficiency 1 now. As others say it's all part of the Stony Road To War - your industry should just be starting to hit top gear in '39 just in time to crank out enough Panzer III's (or IV's) to sweep Poland off the map.

In early '39 you should hope to have WE1, Improved Oil Plants, Improved Rubber plants (may have to sacrifice other research to get those) and Polyurethane. The discovery of WE1 is the real turning point in the game for me as then I can afford the supply costs to deploy all my built-but-not-deployed high supply units and get ready for battle.

Seeing the Sovs get WE2 and WE3 though is a real bugger NightY :D

IIRC this was an early fix in the game.
I don't think so. They fixed SRed units to use supplies but not undeployed new builds.

...followed by an event in which the Fuerher personally orders the execution of every man in the engineer battalions of those divisions who clearly neglected their duty to maintain their units properly :)
