After reading the manual for Semper Fi it says that once one faction has won enough objectives it wins the game.

Doesn't that mean that regardless of if or not you mod the game files to prevent the game from ending in 1948 the game will still just end the moment one faction wins enough objectives :(

I WANT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD DAMNIT! :mad:

I remember seeing a screenshot of the victory screen, with two buttons, one for accepting victory (or defeat) and going back to the menu, and another to continue playing.

Although I may be mistaken.

No, you're quite right ;)

When you, or anyone else, achive 12 out of 15 Victory Conditions, you'll have the option to finish the game, or play on. This was added for an actual end to the game, since it never stopped ;)
When 1948 came, it continued.. Only problem was, AFAIK, that all naval\air missions couldn't be done, because the end-time was still present, the game just didn't stop..

I never bothered to play longer than '44 myself though :p

I take it as a joke, but he is kinda right. If youre VC are Moskau, London, Paris and Washington, then you did kinda conquer the world, I mean whats left? If you can (for example as Germany) take the USA, so not only defeat the SU on land, the British in the air and then the US on the Seas, but then land there and supply an army over 2000 miles, and defeat that biggest industrial nation, then you can kinda conquer everyone left.

but as said privviously, YOU CAN CONTINUOE even if you have achive the VC's

What about problems with air missions after 1948?

That is exactly what the end_date effects and it only needs one line to be changed.

...but you can't change the begin date to anything earlier than 1936, or the game freezes up (bug introduced with 1.4 RC9). Take a look at this bug thread. I't LOVE to know if this bug is still present in Semper Fi, as I'm working on a large mod going on before 1936.

It does, I've tried with several fresh installs, and then patched the game, tested, applied the next patch, and so on...and the bug is introduced with 1.4 RC9, all the earlier versions work fine. I don't know what's causing this, but I sencerely hope that it's fixed in SF.

This new feature cant make no time limit mode useless, since one is useless all by itself from my opinion(except for pursuance of one fundamental sandbox ritual) since there is not prolonged tech advancement to follow time..

_you are Germany and play up to 1960 and by then Afganistan has leveled up with your Germany in tech level since you did not research further(no tech left) and Afganistan catched you in one decade:wacko:.
