Okay, so I win the crusade and inherit all the kingdoms lands. But I don't vassalise the holdings within the counties first, but I glibly gave the counties to the Pope. So now I'm stuck with the problem of having all the holding in the Kingdom of Jerusalem as my vassals. How can I get rid of them? (not interested in ruling Jerusalem with them Fatimids near by) I can't transfer vassals with the Pope.

I tried consol control killing (granted it was a Bishphoric and just went to another character, ad infinitum).

Actually, this is a VERY good thing, if you don't mind the pope being unhappy with you. You get all the income on the barons without having to deal with the counts. Barons do not rebel or plot against you. Also, if a Muslim nation declares war for a barony, they can only do it one at a time, and they will honor their truce. So basically you have free prestige, income and troops int trade off for an unhappy pope. If he excommunicates you, make an Anti Pope.

The pope loves me (+600 from all the counties and +120 from the duchies). I'm more concerned about the successor Pope and the potential for me to be excommunicated perpetually (I'd easily run into -100 with all the vassals he'd desire).

Think I might just play it out and see where this takes me
