On my quest to unite Ireland (my first real campaign), I was able to declare myself king and began a de jure war on all the counties not under my rule; the last one was Tyrone (which I had already created the duchy by this point since I had the other three counties). At some point Tyrone had been put under tribute to a dunchy in Scotland - how can I remove this? I can't use it as a CB against Scotland.
Won a de jure war, but that county was under tribute to another duchy and still is...

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
Kill the count, that's how. Tributary agreements are tied to the rulers, not the state. If either tributary or suzerain dies, it ends.
Unless you get caught, that's also a good way to deal with the -25 Declared War malus.

Killing the tributary does not end the tributary agreement, so you have to kill the suzerain.

Or you could just leave it alone. It'll have little effect on you: the suzerain cannot call the Earl of Tyrone to war against his liege, nor can the Earl do the reverse unless he gets out from under the current Duke of Ulster.
