Welcome to the offices of the Womens Association of Eutopia. My name is Rebecca Cook and I am the WAE President. This association will cover a wide range of issues concerning the women of Eutopia. Welfare for Single Mothers
With our generous donations from women around the nation we are able to supply financial assistance to single mothers on a low income or on governmnet welfare. Some 2,000 Eutopian women recieve a monthly payment from the WAE which allows them to better care for their children. This is very important for the welfare of our future generation.
The life of a single mother is not easy. the question of how to juggle caring for your child and work is a difficult one. many women find it nessacary to work up to 8 hours a day to put food on the table and and cloth their children. The assistance that the WAE supplies will alow more mothers to stay home and raise their children.
Councilling Services for Rape Victims and Victims of Domestic Violence
The WAE employs a team of expert councillors. We supply free councilling to women who have been vitims of rape. From my own persoanal experience this crime has a horrendous effect on your state of mind. Suicide is not uncommon as a result of rape. Many women feel somewhat dirtied and lessend by the act. The WAE councillors will support victims and help them to come to terms with the attack.
WAE also supplies councilling for women who suffer from violence in the home. Many women feel trapped in a relationship and are unwilling to seek help from professionals and even family. Women don't wish to leave a relationship where children are present for fear of upsetting them, as a result women remain in violent relationships for the sake of their children. While the WAE will not encourage women to leave their husbands we will endeavour to aid them with marriage councilling and support.
Legal Aid for Women
WAE ofers free legal advice for women who are seeking restraining orders or need representation in trials against rapists and the like. We also have a number of lawyers who specialise iin family law, our lawyers frequently represent women at divorce or child custody hearings.
Shelter for Homeless and Battered Women
The WAE runs several apartment block in Eutopian major cities. We house up to 3,00 thousand women who are homeless or have left abusive husbands. These apartments help women who don't have the means to support themselves.
Education
WAE in conjuction with the governmnet encourage women who may ahve missed a higher education to return to school. WAE funds several adult eduacation centreas and we actively encourage women to become educated.
Through our High Schools and University representatives of the WAE frequently give lectures on safe sex and contraception to young women. We advocate the right to say no and the use of contraception.
WAE also runs programs for young mothers in child rearing. Young women are often overwhelmed by having to care for a baby especially if they are young or don't have the support of family members. Several workshops on a number of topics such as Breast Feeding, Infant Nutrition, and other general parenting subjects are free and available to all mothers and even fathers if they're interested.
For The Future
WAE has a number of projects for the future;
Establishment of Women and Children Hospital in New Lancaster. This hospital will deal exlusivly with the medical requiremnets of women and children.
WAE would like to see Eutopias first female member of parliament and the first female President all within 10 years.
