I’ll just cut right to it, I decided a while back to complete every single achievement in CK2, cause I love the game, couple months later, I have two seemingly easy feats left before me.

-Rule as someone who gained Wolf’s Blood through the rare event chain.

-Survive the End Times event chain during the Black Plague.

Problem is, these events NEVER fire for me (I check the game settings, supernatural and absurd is all enabled, I’ve spent hundreds of in game years across multiple saves) and when I look at other forum posts it’s just people saying “dude just play the game and it’ll happen its so pointless to try and make it happen asap” but when you’ve sunk 2,400 hours into this game and have literally done every other achievement and still have yet to even SEE a Wolf Child or an End Time event, let alone survive one, it gets pretty ridiculous.

My point is that hopefully someone can come forward with a start date and ruler that makes these two achievements at least somewhat more likely to fire, all help is appreciated. I wish Paradox would either remove these terrible RNG based achievements in future games, or at the very least have the chances not be wildly low.

I had an easier time restoring the old Roman borders and conquering all of western Europe for Khan of Khans than these two achievements.

Try the latest start date 1337. The Black Death is just about to hit just as England and France face off the Hundred Years War.

I got the event once whilst playing as Jewish Semien. My character was in Lucifer's Own so just assumed it related to that. He ended up being hunted down and killed by the annoying demon hunter event - still got the save, but everyone hated my family as such unsavoury stuff invariably became public knowledge!

Try any tengri Avars in 769 for Wolfs Blood. Don't marry anybody with anybody of your dynastie. I think only unmarried kids can become wolfs blood. Maybe you have to turn game rule "create families" off.

I feel your pain on these two achievements, the RNG for these two is almost as bad as the Legendary Wisdom event for the "Wise Guy" achievement.

My advice for you on the Wolf's Blood achievement has three parts- (1) play as an Altaic nomad, (2) play as a young child ruler, and (3) set the "Generate Families" game rule to "Off". I tried dozens of times to get any of the Wolf events to fire when playing as a Feudal or Iqta ruler, with no luck.

The start I used to get this achievement was the Khan of Ili, who is a vassal to the Khagan of Zhetysu in the 769 bookmark. Get your ruler a bunch of fertile concubines, and have 2-3 sons as soon as possible. Then have your ruler to lead armies or fight lots of duels until he gets himself killed while his sons are still under the age of 5. Since you are a vassal Khan, you can retain all your titles even though you are ruling under a regent. And now that you are underage Nomad ruler, you have a good chance of having this event chain fire between the ages of 5 and 10:

Code:
# Child (ruler or child to ruler) gets lost in woods. Is taken in and rescued by wolves..
narrative_event = {
id = HL.1020
title = EVTTITLE_HL_1001
desc = EVTDESC_HL_1020
picture = GFX_evt_wolf
border = GFX_event_narrative_frame_war

is_triggered_only = yes

capable_only = yes

trigger = {
has_dlc = "Horse Lords"
culture_group = altaic
NOT = { culture = khitan }
age = 5
NOT = { age = 10 }
NOT = { any_sibling = { is_older_than = ROOT } }
OR = {
OR = {
ai = no
has_game_rule = {
name = supernatural_events
value = unrestricted
}
}
father = { ai = no }
mother = { ai = no }
}
NOT = {
any_close_relative = {
OR = {
has_character_modifier = wolf_child
has_character_modifier = wolf_blood
}
}
}
}

option = {
name = EVTOPTA_HL_1020
set_character_flag = wolf_blood_first_generation
add_character_modifier = {
name = wolf_child
duration = -1
}
hidden_tooltip = {
father = { narrative_event = { id = HL.1021 } }
mother = { narrative_event = { id = HL.1021 } }
}
}
}

And here's a screenshot of my ruler, right after he received the Wolf's Blood trait:

For the "Not So Bad" achievement, I recommend starting as the King of Pala (Bengal/Bihar) in 1075, with Major Epidemics set to "Delayed Dynamic." Since the Black Death always starts on the eastern edge of the map, your realm will be on the first to feel it's bite. The plague will start to appear around 1106.

Even with all that, you will likely need to make a backup copy of your save at the moment the death first touches one of the counties in your realm, as the event chain MTTH starts the moment the Death enters your lands. The "End of Days" event chain didn't fire for me until 1110. I made a thread about getting this achievement, which I've linked below:

Here's a screenshot from the start of that event chain:
