Given the 'huge' reveal teased in the last dev diary I'm sure a lot of people are gonna guess player owned titans.
But personally I'm hoping for an overhaul on military space stations.

So let's analize:
Considering the detail, we can see it's a pretty huge construction.
It doesn't seem to be a military platform (lacks turrets), even though it is reminiscent of the H-style construction of most Defense Stations
It's on the same height as all other constructions and fleets.
If my isometrics as somewhat correct, it seems to be built on the out orbital lane in view there, rather than as satelite of the planet. Unless they shifted the camera all the way around.
So considering it's probably not a habitat, it's either a new Neutral to interact with or a civilian construction we can build. Perhaps some sort of trade center or United Galaxy pre-cursor?

A bit sad was hoping it was a new tier of ships aka ones possibly mounting planet killer weapons
Just a couple of guesses/wishes here:
1. It's another type of habitat, one that doesn't orbit a planet, but instead orbits the sun
2. It's a trading outpost (which I personally hope for, I really want interstellar trade to be a thing in Stellaris, maybe in an EU4 like fashion, what with trade nodes and all, though they'd have to be dynamic to fit into stellaris)
3. It's a military outpost, which seems unlikely as it has no obvious weaponry

I too wonder if this is the "big" update to be featured in the next DD. Wouldn't bet money on it, though.

To me it kinda looks like it's apart of a gate system of some kind, think the Eye of Aarran from homeworld 2.
The structure has a lot of windows, so it's probably civilian in nature - new type of hab or trading outpost or something. Could it be mobile? Possible Culture GSV type thing
