This. New space object are very cool but:Shrug. Another space station. I am bored, show us something new.
Are u sure? To me it seems more like communication array of some kind (just the way it looks, I've no idea what could such thing be good for in this game). Although fuel and supply system would be great. This is obviously a REFUELING STATION so paradox is introducing fuel consumption for ships, in order to adress the doomstack problem. Great!
A communications station or listening post could imply more complex diplomacy or intelligence gathering- which would also be welcome. Are u sure? Anyway I'll go rebel and say that these planet/station proportions are just getting ridiculous.
I'm almost positive that the station is appearing larger in relation to the star than it actually is due to perspective. It'd be plausible given that low angle for it to be in orbit of a planet, even.I second this. Giant space stations look nice, but the proportions between stars/planets and stations get out of hand here. xD
Keep in mind that Ascension Perks ARE mid-game. You get one every full social tre... I mean, tradition tree. It's cool, but, IMO, we need to fix mid game before starting to pump content into end-game
Do you? Isn't part of the whole idea with those that A.) they're meant to help "Tall" play and smaller, more harmonious civilizations will unlock them faster, and B.) That you can unlock Perk slots as rewards for event chains sometimes? You fill those up with ~linear speed across the game. Thus, the first few 'Ascension' perk picks will definitely happen in the mid-game.
Well, I was just talking about the fact that most of the screenshots recently are of space stations and we just got a DD about space stations and the next DD is apparently about space stations.This. New space object are very cool but:
a) it feels like either some non-buildable objects (Enigmatic Fortress and such) or something mid-late\late game tied to new Ascension Perks similar to Habitats. It's cool, but, IMO, we need to fix mid game before starting to pump content into end-game where we already have some neat stuff.
b) It's hard to pay attention to this situational stuff while new (or renewed) core game designs are still unclear. We have some info about new ethic systems, some bits about new factions, a DD about new species rights, some very brief tweets on it, but still all those elements, but i can't see the whole picture about how those elements are supposed to work together. The only feeling a get from all those elements is that managing something aside mono-species small Empire will be extremely hard and un-efficient (especially in science department), no matter who you are - a Slaver Empire or free-for-all Democracy.
