The following changes have been made for CQSIV on the scenario:

-Manpower has been increased in Catalonia, Denmark and Finland, Base Tax has been increased in Finland and Denmark

-Persian base tax has been increased 2 points in each of it's three main centers

-The Timurid's badboy has been decreased to 0, and their inflation down to 2%

-Gold in northern central Mexico has been increased in value slightly

-CoT in Skaane has been moved to Sjaelland

-Event that moves the CoT from Mecklemburg to Stockholm reinstituted

-CoT in Mangalore and Johor have been added

-CoT in Flandern has been moved to Holland

-Burgundy's capital has been moved to Holland

-Venice, Genoa and Denmark have trade 3

-Portugal has 9k invested in trade 3 (just a little more than 2/3rds of the total needed)

-Venice's mercantilism has been lowered to 3 (crazy HG :wacko: :rolleyes: )

-Bavaria and Bohemia now vassals of Austria

-Austria given Magyar culture

-Ottoman Empire given Kurdish culture

-Sweden independent

-Sjaelland now has a shipyard

-Barracks in Corsica, Liguria, Emilia, Tuscany, Romagna, Rome, Naples, Mantua as well as the one in Venice that's already there

-Genoa and Venice given cores on all of Italy

-Refinery in Crete deleted

-Increased base tax by 2 or 3 in most provinces in eastern Hungary, the Balkans, and a tiny increase in Romania too. Manpower increased by 1 in a few provinces in the area.

We should get a lot more italian wars I guess. Not sure if that change will be that great for the italians powers in the end. The good lands of Italy -always good to have- had suddenly become even more attractive for outsiders.

I can see it now, Venice and Genoa in a vicious struggle to hold off the evil Ottomans, Austrians, French, and Spanish. A great jihad to defend the holy land of Rome. hehe. This could be a very strange game.

Oh, and Genoa will take 25 generals, 20 admirals.

I'm afraid that you have weakend France a bit too much,
Then you have boosted Burgundy, for example. They start with a 20/20 army and 300D, France start with 11/4 army and 100D in treasury. Thus if Burgundy wants to they can eat up France the first two years and France will not stand a chance.

The other edits are ok though, making one alliance instead of three for France is better. It'll be much harder for France to unite ahistorical early now.
But the balance is not solved as i see it, removing the French starting army was a bit harsh. Especially since this France have very limited abilities to expand anyway.

And why the inflation hit :confused:

Sniff, it could had been interesting the fight for rich, great manpower italian provinces. (there was a reason why France and Spain fought so long for hegemony in Italy).

And Fredde, initial army and ducats definitely don't make France weaker than Burgundy.

The difference is one loan. I guess if Burgundy wants to wipe out France, taking a loan will not be that bad (and one loan is not nice, but not that terrible either)

Though it appears that I need the help if my last game is any guide, I don't think that it makes sense to have conscription centers that exist only for Italians and not for other players.

Making them permanent would do a lot to make Italy the battle-ground it was historically.

Another possibility (in terms of making Italy a battle-ground) would be to make the base tax value of provinces in Italy much richer, which would also be historically accurate (in my view).

Italy is already the one region that's always worth conquering no matter what one's religion or culture.

The reason CCs will disappear is a matter of game balance more than anything else. It's the same reason we didn't just boost the manpower.

I can see why one would be worried that control over Italy by a major would unbalance Europe if there were CC's, and one might say that the same worry is what was bothering the Europeans at the time. (Not as a source of manpower though, but as a source of wealth.)

In any case, I think this is an awkward solution to Venice/Genoa's weakness in the game.

Somehow I expect France will easily survive. Unless Spain, Burgundy, and England all team up. Even if that happens, I expect other nations will come to France's aid. There's so many countries played in this game, if the balance of power falls apart there's noone to blame but ourselves.

Don't talk about balance Taelyn, this is a dog eat dog game :D

I am going to have to compete for any juicy territory with 3-4 other nations in my Corridor and in any other region aside from the Artic Circle!

France should be given something, she's got a lot of enemies and few friends ;)
