1) Production screen: small buttons next to Consumer Goods, Production, Supplies, Reinforcements, Upgrades, which by click will set the slider to 100% needed for that field.

2) Production screen: When you e.g. build a division it says "Takes 90 days to develop", please add right next to that the date, when it is finished. You see the date after clicking "Start Production", but it is not so convenient for planning. So the ETA of the queque should also be shown, when you start production.

Suggested features:

1) Overland convoy. Like sea convoys, but with total truck/train fleets a function of some aspect of nation size. May be set to cross allied territory.

2) Supply depot. Created by the shipment of materials to allied territory without a trade agreement. Your units will first draw upon these supplies, then upon those of the host nation.

Do this, and you transform the game in all the best ways.

jkk

Then all of the Air Power missions should be changed to allow for supply / land convoy attacks... :D

I think that this would be more trouble than it is worth.

I don't much care how they do it. I care only about the end result: being able to trace supply somehow across allied territory, and to supply a beachhead on a liberated ally's territory with my own supplies. That's the key log in the jam. I was just suggesting potential ways to implement it. In comparison to this, which has monumental impact on major powers' basic conduct of warfare in the game, I think many other issues are miniscule.

If Johan and company do it, I offer to send a bottle of fine Washington wine to Sweden (assuming customs issues can be managed). I will even write a thank-you card in my broken Swedish (I guess that would be a tack-sa-mycket card) and ask the Aesir, Vanir and Disir to guide Paradox in the direction of opportunity and prosperity.

You think I'm joking? I'm serious as a heart attack on every count, and fully qualified to keep my word.

Considering how many hours of joy I got from HOI, and how those hours were finally ended before their time by the frustration of the supply system, this change would give me so much more for my original $40 that an equivalent amount spent on a gift becomes peanuts.

By the way, Johan and Co., the new tech tree rocks. Three times the flavour, a quarter the work.

Two things.

First, it would we wonderful if the list of selected units were sort alphabetically. I like to keep my divisions as seperate formations, named e.g. 6th Army / VI Corps / A , B , C etc. As things stand now units the divisions are mixed any which way in the list, makes the units from a particular corps a pain to select.

The second suggestion is a bit more drastic - boost a retreating unit's speed to represent it having been pushed back during the battle - i.e. a fudged way of representing movement is defense to counterbalance move is attack. Should largely overcome the problem of attackers outrunning retreaters to the next province. (a variable to set the speed in misc.txt would be the ideal, but a x3 multiplier to match support defence should work).

He was talking about the game and how it sucks that even when you have a vast empire like the soviet union down to ONE territory, they still don't accept peace, when there should have been at least a CHANCE that they would have accepted long before then.

If someone mentioned this before, I apologize, but I'll suggest it again:

1.Terrain, weather, partisan, victory points and political map should be united in one map,
2.I would like to see message box when my diplomat is available again (when he is stopping be “en route”) for particular country.

Thx.
yes, at least terrain and weather! And has a button to select day light attack, or give a choice to change the default attack hour to day light, not 1 hour later.

As I mentioned in another (now closed) thread, I would like the units from the different countries to differ slightly in quality as they probably did historically. Unique units for each country, please...

Please don´t do it. Minor diferences in equipment quality are totally irrelevant in a game of this scale. Real difference in an strategic scope should come from doutrine and tech levels, IMHO.

Russia should be less inclined to attack Japan when things go exactly the same as history between them. This has happened in every game so far. Not realistic, especially because it always happens in may '41, just before the germans attack.

I'd have to agree, as well as the variations that the political sliders entail. In a perfect world it might be nice to have a set of sliders for configuring how your army / navy / airforce are handled or prioritized. This would provide a little more detail than those effects that the Heads of those respective branches grant

I would like a user assigned box on the Dipl screen so you do not have to scroll through all the nations,in order to find the ones you wish to influnce.

ie: axis, allies, ect., europe, asia, ect., add a user assigned section.

A distance meter between provinces would be nice, sometimes I have to decide to which air base rebase to and it really pisses me off to see that my CAS's won't make it to the battlefield again

Some kind of a "notice sheet" were I can click on and make some notices for my next actions, planned production and so on.
After having a longer break between two sessions, it needs always a long time to realize things happend.
Sometimes I look at a transport fleet with troops and thought "For what the hell had I build this invasion force last week...???"
I agree, and I would even like some sort of reminder with my own message popping up after certain time. Like "Don't forget to feed the cat and invade France today!" or something.

Please don't do that, it is a step backwards to HoI1. Realize how would smaller provinces like luxembourg look like with all these: sprites (both air and land units), terrain symbol, color of country, weather, partisan activity.
Plus I like weather in a separate screen to see which provinces are frozen.

But what about a "muddy" symbol on the weather screen?

You are right about this Luxembourg point but still, why have it 7 clicks to gain some informations insted of 2 or 3? Instead of icons maybe this problem can be solved with pop up form or something?

1. Ability to assign two or even more contractors to one research project. While taking up a slot the finished product would get a "quality" bonus. A plus in certain categories (higher speed, better armour). The project would be completed sooner and the contractors "competing" for the finished product would both get a skill leverl improvement and pick up any skills they did not have before. Competition is a wonderful thing to spur development of new products.

Or keep the five slots and allow more than one on the same project in the same slot. So if you want to produce supplies so you can sell them on the market in order to get enought cash to pay alot of contractors to get busy..............

2. Adjustable/optional historical penalty for research. From as is to setting it to zero so that, like HOI1 experiementing with different research paths is not confined to historical dates or at least not penalized by it.

yeah everyone can keep their favourite map, a new map mode will please all! right now I play with the terrain map most of the time, I want to check the weather more often but because of the extra clicks, I often check that map only to see if the winter frozen has come and have to ignore all the rain, storm, snow....

1) The “Go to” button doesn’t work when you have been successfully influenced by another country.

2) It should be possible to create your own alliances.

3) Some of the events are poorly written; “Norway had One of our ministers has died” and “Nicaragua had A militarist coup d’etat happened to us”. “One of <Country>’s ministers has died” and “A militarist coup d’etat happened in <Country>” would be far better.

4) When making a change on the government sliders, the difference between current bonuses and future bonuses should be shown when hovering over the + and – buttons.

5) Units should be upgraded to the newest unit; why waste IC upgrading to obsolete units?

6) I can only get two science slots as Belgium, even though I have expanded both my economy and land by a fair amount.

7) There should be more events, even if they are fictional, for small countries such as Belgium.

8) It takes an incredibly long time to lower the “base revolt risk” in annexed provinces.

9) Even with several units garrisoned in Luxembourg, the “base revolt risk” never completely reaches zero. Surely having annexed it and having units garrisoned there for a significant period of time should crush all resistance eventually?

10) When warring with the Netherlands, I captured all their home provinces, yet was not able to annex it. I shouldn’t need to capture all their colonies, since I have captured the provinces which are controlling them.

I apologise if any of these have been said, or if they are already implemented in the game and I've missed them. If that's the case, PM me.

A very very simple fix:

When at war with Nat. China as the Soviet Union, I don't see a reason to get the Operation Zet event. And maybe this could trigger some bad relations with the US/Allies in general.

As a second choice to my primary--a solution to the supply problem across allied territory--I'd really love to see:

--Some control over what country gets ownership of a conquered space. I was invading Poland, and I didn't even launch an offensive from Slovakia--just from German soil. Only thing that crossed from Slovakia was airstrikes. Even so, a conquered Polish province bordering Slovakia went to...Slovakia. It's just maddening to have to plan your offensives not around military success but around trying not to have the minor countries end up with the wealth. And because of the allied supply situation, if the game were to hand them enough territory to block you off from other places, supply in an attack on those places would be problematic.

Any problems that can be solved by modding, I know CORE and Stony Road will look after. I encourage Paradox to focus mainly on the issues no mod can remedy--you will have some very happy gamers. In addition to my earlier offer, if both of these issues are fixed, I will write reviews on Epinions and Amazon that will flat-out rhapsodize. I'm a reasonably well regarded reviewer both places, and I can sell some games for you with a day's writing work. With both these issues corrected, I could in completely good conscience tell readers: this is truly the WWII grand strategic game you've always lusted for.
