1. France taking Rome in the Sardinian war against 2 sicilies. And France never giving that province back (or selling it) is not that logical. The cost for buying non cores from allies that are your own cores should be very very low ! So in the example Sardinia buying Rome back from France after the war is over,

2. The AI should be less reluctant to give in total states (so rather a bunch of provinces belonging to one state, instead of a clutter left and right),

3. Drastically change the colonisation model. Now everything gets sold in a matter of days... ok explorers are not in the game - but this could be easely solved. There could be events that lift the ban on colonising - but you'll need to fulfill some conditions then,

and it was common for explorers working for different colonial powers to scout a given area,

and claims should be prone to loss. Loyalty of the locals wasn't that deterministic. The claim should be more easely lost due to angry locals - it happened

I REALLY think we need new tags. Adding alot of options for Satellite states in Europe and Asia would be great. And they'd be a huge asset for the Mexican Civil War(s)

EDIT: I also would really like to see unrest/rebellions/productivity lower if a European power drafts the entire African populous in his army.

That would quite easily solve the shortage of tags problem methinks, esp if they include all the modern day tags that were included in HoI-1

They could also throw in those new "Alien" tags created for HoI2 - Imagine Bismarck's Prussia having to deal with the Alien Empire of Uncolonized Africa

[*] Native unrest, does it exist? I've never seen it.

I've seen it, about once every few games. They appear as rebels on the map in an uncolonised province and destroy the colonial building in the province. Nobody will be able to build a new colonial building in that province until the natives are destroyed.

I know this would be a BIG undertaking, but another campaign. Just like how they added the 1881 campaign in the 1.02(?) patch. Maybe early 1900's with the Russo-Japanese War?

I get really angry, if something like this is happening:

Played as Spain, 1900 I got drag into a war against France, well my navy is better then theirs an therefore its easy to gain ground with the support from my navy....

Their Military Rating is slightly better, so they refuse any sensible peace treaty, even white peace, so you fight on, 2 years later I get the first big peace offer from france with "millions" of provinces, which I don't need and want so i refuse...

My Peace offer is, of course, refused even if my offer is a much better deal for France (well obviously it isn't for the AI)

After a while the AI offers peace again and I take it...., before I even looked through all my new colonies I get Dowed by UK, Russia and Germany....., no wonder I had, through this stupid Peace, a BB from 78..(no European Cores only stupid African, Asian, American Provinces)

Thank God I had my Main Fleets still in the Channel so the british Fleet which was still at approx. 20%, was sunk very soon, the same happend to the german and russian Fleet so I can land everywhere I want and hold anything adjacted to the sea but nothing more because my 100 divisions stand against approx. 1100 from the UK, Russia and Germany....
I was able to pull Russia out of the war because I could take St. Petersburg but the Germans and Brits refuse everything..

Well I conquerd Australia,........, my Warscore was much over 60% against the UK, I landed near London and destroy massiv numbers of the brits but I can't get a White Peace from the UK and the same for Germany.

So there might be 2 things that should be reconsiderd for a patch
- Why the heck must I get 2 BB for a Province in the middle of the Kongo-Area especially if I get the same for a province like Bordeaux, Paris..

- Improve the AI to accept a (White) Peace if you Block their Ports and their navy is no match and they can't get troops to anywhere else, if it's possible...

it's very boring to watch and wait and hope that some day the might accept a white peace

Of course I agree with all what you say, but when the game makes completely no sense then 'You've gotta Neville'.

However if the game could check naval strengths regarding peace/war it would make the game more balanced. For example, if the UK lost it's fleet I imagine it would be ripped apart instantly by others players/AI/real life.

neville, somehow doesn't feel correct, even if I know it better

so you start to build up your ships and army and try to take more provinces und you say to yourself "maybe then it's enough and I haven't used "neville"" and so on for a few times until I'm really fed up and I use neville but then I somehow loose motivation and start again :D from the scratch hopefully doing better

:)

Being able to add or remove a province to your war demands during peace talks by right clicking on it so that it is easier to add a large number of grouped provinces during a successful war. Right now, the way of search the list for all the names just takes a long time to make a peace offer when you occupy most of a country, and it is really frustrating when it gets turned down.

hello
I think it would be nice to be able to demand land for my allies in a peace treaty, too. The I is able to do this, why not the player?

Beated countrys should capitulate. It happens often, that a full controled enemy country denied my peace. Also a country with no military should capitulated, if I have destroy it. And at least countrys I have conquered all core provinces should capitulate. Some kolony provinces should not be the argument for fighting any longer ;)

It should be possible to annex a zivilised country with more than 3 provinces. If I conquer for example Switzerland, I think it musst be possible to get the hole country and not only every province without the capital.

I also agree with the fact, that releasing a state should be a part of a peace treaty (maybe like giving provinces to othe countrys create a possible country with giving provinces to it?)

Modable Diplomaty. I hate to see, that declaring a war is not possible, because I have no diplomatic points (I think to shoot I need no diplomat :) )
Also it would be nice to be able to modify the max amount of diplomatic points and the costs for diplomatic options. (To be able to set it like in hoi: bring to alliance for ex. 2, trade 3, and so on).

ok, thats it :D

I will come with some large warfare revision requests. I dont know, they may be more VIC2 then VIC 1.04 but well, I will at least post it, after I finished my current research project for warfare in the period we speak of :)

And well, DOWing without diplomats is possible, just right-click the country and select 'declare war'; it works without diplomats too ;)

I agree, you shoule be able to pretty much annex any country, the price should be much higher militancy (10 sounds pretty harsh) for the new citizens of your empire

Any script kiddie can make a savegame converter. Johan should concentrate on stuff only he can do. Same for new scenarios. And if you want to annex large, civilised nations, play HoI.

Well, I suppose I can bring this to life again:

Do something about the ridiculous industrial score that has been mentioned in another thread here.

(Can a friendly moderator in all His wisdom sticky this so that other people know where to post their 1.04 whishes?)

From all proposals made in this topic I think that the only one really important is about making possible to demand to free a state in peace negotations and state that would prevailed something like that on its enemy should get bonus in prestige points for example 100 points for every province of just rescued state.

I hope they leave that prestige part out. There is already enough prestige inflation via event and inventions to puff up smaller nations into the Great Powers without the military or economic power to back it up. That idea would make it even worse. I do wish that the AI would cede provinces in contiguous groups, though not necessarily whole states which, because of calculations of military victory, could make wars even longer than needed.
