What are your wishlist for HOI 3?

1. No more CTD.
2. No more lagging.
3. More terrain features on the maps with layout of cities.
4. New sprites for every level upgrades.
5. Dynamic night and day events.
6. Dramatic night bombings with anti-aircraft flaks and searchlights as sprites.
7. Trenches
8. Icons for capital cities like that of Victoria.
9. Improvement of weather AI.
10. Improvement on computer AI.
11. Overhaul on game engine for faster gameplay.
12. Breakdown of smaller states for MODDING compatibility.

These are some of my thoughts...what are yours?

An upgrade bar.

Another simple suggestion, which could be for current implementation, or for HOI 3.

It would be nice to be able to monitor the progress of units upgrading without having to switch to the ledger all the time.

Could there be another strength bar on the unit display which shows the progress of the unit's upgrade graphically? i.e. The unit display shows a strength bar, org bar and an upgrade bar.

A complete upgrade bar would show that the unit is fully upgraded and would drop to zero when a new upgrade is required for the unit.

(Also, it would be nice to have a slightly darker background on all the bars -str/org/upg - so the maximum for the bar could be seen.)

AI improvement , please a simple command that will tell AI to stop building Infantry division like crazy once manpower is down to xxx (for example for Germany would be around 400, UK 200, SU 1000 etc.. I dont know 20% of 1939 manpower)

In that case I demand that Paradox allows armoured paratrooper divisions to be created so that I can use air-transport planes to drop them off.

The pre-fix 'Parachute' for the Hermann Goering Panzer-division was just a honorific title, the division was never used or trained to be a airborne-divsion

How about being able to selectivly upgrade Infantry to motorized or mechanized divisions, so you do not lose the experiance of the infantry divisions. (Maybe, on the division have something simmilar to the 'allow this unit to recieve reinforcments', but have it 'Allow this unit to be upgraded to mechanized'. Would be greyed out if you do not have the mechanized tech, and would be defaul to disabled (like reinforcing is default on)

1). The ability to change the name of ships.

2). The ability to alter the IC costs of AI opponents. I find the current difficulty settings too broad ... I'd like to be able to keep 1 of my units on an equal footing to an AI unit, but to be able to allow the AI to have more units more quickly.

A side benefit of this would, of course, be more targets :)

How I see this working would be as a pre-game editor allowing the IC costs & build times of a particular national unit type to be decreased or increased. I'd hope the AI would be able to recognise its advantages, & build accordingly.

Personally I'd use this to drastically reduce German submarine IC costs & build times, to give me, when playing UK, a challenging Battle of the Atlantic.

Anyway, great game, fingers crossed for the future.

Eyam.

We need the ability to place fortifications, radar-installations etc. in the territory of allied or puppetised nations. We also need the AI of allied minor countries to become far more efficient, rather than relying on expedeitionary-forces etc.

1) You can rename any unit already. Click on the unit's tab on the left after selecting it then click the name at the top. Retype.

2) play on hard and all AI nations get +20% IC.

It have probably have been told earlier, but i would realy like the 'setflag' option like in Victoria. This would make the flags change according to contry ideology, like if Italy is defeated and become social-liberal it will get the actual flag.

Different Teches

I hope that different countries could have their own tech trees, and different weapons, e.g. Germany may have much more powerful tanks than British even they have researched the same tech item/ Germany may not have advanced CV tech while American got one.

I disagree. I don't think that Germany should automatically get better tanks than the Brits (and in all honesty, some British tanks were far superior to German tanks).

I do think, however, that players should be given a choice to make better tanks (at a higher IC cost maybe). I don't like the idea of enforcing historicality onto players. I also don't like forced mediocrity, where Germany's '38 tank division is exactly the same as Britain or Brazil or Botswana's '38 tank divisions.

Well, that s just some examples anyway, and I m hoping that if some countries could build sth at a relatively low cost while others may not, e.g. again(And only e.g.!): USSR could build infantry at 1IC per division.

I quite agree. There should be different IC costs for certain units in particular nations.

The main thing that needs fixing is the manpower issue - it's virtually impossible as the human player to get manpower down to zero - yet, in WWII, Germany and Russia developed serious manpower shortages towards the end.

The other issue is to allow paratroopers to be air-transported to friendly-controlled hexes - plus, I don't think that it's reasonable to have such a huge delay in allowing air-transport units to get to full org and be able to air-transport - it should be at most half as long in duration. Also, the tech only allows 600 (miles or kilometres?) as a range which makes them almost useless unless one is paradropping on Crete or Stornoway or Belfast- sure there is an air-transport tech in 1947(!) which presumably expands range but it's far too late in the war, IMO . The CORE-mod tech team allows a range of 1000km mid-war(either 1942 or 1943) which is far more reasonable and allows paradrops on Iceland from Scapa Flow etc..
