noticeably, most do little to actually help deal with piracy, and a lot to screw the consumer. thus the hate.

technically just needing, for example, the CD in the drive is DRM. as is the whole 'register if you want patches'. they just happen to be the less evil sort. the first is just a hold over from when it was necessary to have the CD in due to the amount of data involved, and it just stuck as convenient. the second is just, you know, actually a good idea.
but yeah, wandering off topic a bit there, wasn't i? heh. sorry about that.
downside to releasing stuff near Christmas, at least around here, is the massively increased odds of it getting hung up in the censors office. this makes getting things 'on release day' a bit interesting, near the end of the year, here abouts. that's never worried me terribly anyway.
i'm trying to think if there's anything truly Iconic to the HoI series that isn't just generic ww2 stuff that could be modeled... i fail horribly. oh well.
