That enemy retreating troops will not retreat to provinces I control, it makes absolutely no sense in a wwI trench warfare like situation.

Actually...
This does not really need fixing, what you need to do, is man those provinces behind the line with at least a regiment. Enemy will not retreat to province where you have troops in. -> Thus if you sensibly follow your main army with at least some reinforcements, the enemy will retreat in proper directions.

-Possibility to intervene in foreign rebellions, for example helping swedish nationalist rebellions in Finland as sweden, or support economically.
-"World revolution" events.
-Alliiances should be broken if a country turns communist and the other country is democratic for example.
-Ideolocial alliances.
-South african republic or united Boer republic
-Rebellions should be tweaked. If have slaughtered a big communist rebellion, it should be very rare to see one again. Now I have had huge communist rebellions that I have crushed in every fifth year or so.

Probably a lot of material for an expansion...

This does not really need fixing, what you need to do, is man those provinces behind the line with at least a regiment. Enemy will not retreat to province where you have troops in. -> Thus if you sensibly follow your main army with at least some reinforcements, the enemy will retreat in proper directions.

It DOES need fixing. If you have soldiers in neighbourhood should be irrelevant - enemy still should not escape through the lines.
It turns war into constant whack-a-mole situation.

That would simply be Russia with democracy or bourgeois dictatorship as it's government form. The USSR has a different name because it is internationalist, but there's no reason to presume (to the contrary, actually) that a capitalist-dominated Russia would be internationalist.

Well, I'm not saying it's necessarily perfect, but mind the scale of things.
I'll questimate that most province to province borders fall between 10km (minor german state borders) to 100km (larger european province borders, we'll not even talk about other continents with this...)
So, to have single file of 1 man per meter, you need in smallest case 10000 men in combat, ok, now that sounds quite easy... then you check how often battles are fought in single line...
...yea, until you reach say, strenght 100 combats there is room even on smallest provinces to evade around the enemy lines, and even then it'd apply only to smallest provinces, really.

I feel almost cheating with keeping those 1 regiment backups behind the line, and especially circling the enemy, to prevent the retreats, and, yes, knowing that, you don't need to whack a mole in a war...

Now, I'm not really that much against change like that, but I really don't think it's necessary.

That was one useful thing I found about Victoria 2 that you would be able to gain technologies or provinces/colonies through an exchange thereof or by spending money.

It's specifically removed because it is pretty much always abused by the player over the AI. Rather than spend many man-months perfecting the AI to use that one feature, it's simpler to not have the feature.

I would like have the possibility, when GP, to make alliance with another GP (what gave the 1st WW)
When minor, having the possibility to make an alliance not only with the one you are in the sphere of. (For exemple, playing Belgium, being in the sphere of UK, I should be able to make an alliance with France as well, as it was the case historically).
For Belgium, event that gives Congo as a colony.

all those was crucials and most atmospheric milestones of 19th century russian events and background. playing w/o them is so blank! in-game simulation is just not depicting all these however hard i'm trying to roleplay. and i spose for many other historcal events for other countries

Seriously, it is not that hard, is it? Few simple rules (cores, land connection etc) and huge amounts involved (millions rather than thousands) and that's it. I think Paradox is perfectly capable to do that.

Well, you can either spend (let's just pick a number) 12 man-months on perfecting the AI for a single feature that isn'treally crucial to the game, or you can spend those 12 man-months adding new features, or perfecting partsof the AI that are widely used, like the capitalist AI or the military AI. I think it's a pretty simple decision, not?

It's specifically removed because it is pretty much always abused by the player over the AI. Rather than spend many man-months perfecting the AI to use that one feature, it's simpler to not have the feature.

It worked well in V1. There was one exploit, but from the looks of it, it could have been fixed without much problems.

Well, you can either spend (let's just pick a number) 12 man-months on perfecting the AI for a single feature that isn'treally crucial to the game, or you can spend those 12 man-months adding new features, or perfecting partsof the AI that are widely used, like the capitalist AI or the military AI. I think it's a pretty simple decision, not?

The feature *is* crucial, specially because now you can only take states in wars.

I would like have the possibility, when GP, to make alliance with another GP (what gave the 1st WW)
When minor, having the possibility to make an alliance not only with the one you are in the sphere of. (For exemple, playing Belgium, being in the sphere of UK, I should be able to make an alliance with France as well, as it was the case historically).
For Belgium, event that gives Congo as a colony.

Multiple alliances among the GPs does happen occationally in 1.2, but can be tricky to get.
Same with the minors allying. I think it has something to do with powerlevels however, since a weak state isn't very good as an ally.
And the Congo-conferance is in the game... Who gets the province varies, but Belgium has the greater chance I think.
