1. Some talk has been about this and they said maybe IIRC.

2. Why not as long as they gain new AIs when time progress like in many mods.

3. I don't see this happening.. I would prefer the events we have with triggers so if Spain is not Habsburg they should not inherit any Habsburg land.

4. Which would kind of undermine the former idea? I don't want to have Austria choose conquistador ideas.

5. This should be done in a way so the AI will not get exploited. The AI needs to be able to master this. Or else I think we should only have it in MP and have permission to give provinces in SP, but not take.

Hi,
firstly i think FTG is a great idea and i can't wait to play this game.

But i would really like if you could do something about the leaderbox name, either to be longer like in EU3 or Vicky so you could have a full name of your leader and also to have the same system as in EU3 where you can change the leader from one army to another army where it might be on the other end of your empire and not walk him with the army all the way there. I think you get the picture.

Also the best thing would be if you could do is for us to be able to change i mean type the names of the leaders or random leaders while you play the game, and if its possible to get random leaders in ranking orders and not only that silver star.

Sorry for my english, and i hope you will read this and understand...

4>national ideas should be picked according to historical truth, like Englands always chooses a naval idea and Portugal a traders idea...

A fairly easy and cool thing to implement would to be give us paintings (or pictures :p) of some of the cities ala HoI 2. I still don't know were exactly should the picture be located as you need to have the province improvement available, but it should be doable (at least for foreign cities instead of the render that always hangs in the window). Another neat little flavor would be to give maybe little icons of important buildings ala Vicky on the map. You know the pyramids, the cathedral in Cologne, the Tadj Mahal, Great Wall of China, Haghia Sophia etc. And finally is it possible to implement jpgs into event windows? I think this again could spice up the events.

I'm not thinking of doing this for every province/city/event (I understand time constraints), but at least a few of each would really spice things up and eliminate the same old feeling. (Also perhaps adding sea monsters and weird creatures to terra incognita instead of the white)

That is already doable in EU2. In some mods this has been activated. For instance Arabia Universalis.

Btw, I wish:

1. Coop would be really nice.
2. More colour tags and ability to assign the terrain and religions other colours.

Judging from the first DD screen - maybe the date and pause icon could be moved to the right end of the title bar? Just an idea of course, but players may be used to this from other P'dox titles, and it seems also more 'logical' to me. Dunno if this is doable though.

I would love having several Government/Regime types!

Well, this would be only of interest for mods starting in 19th. century. Before, you had only monarchies and a handfull of republics. In one of my mod-projects i'm using the religion-tags for different government types but to be honest, i don't see a sense for such things in normal games. If there are e.g. 100 religion tags, you can easily use some of them for regime types and threat them as a religion.

You forgot theocracies(knightly orders and bishoprics). In all fairness adding government types may not be feasible but it would be rather cool.

Also I'm not really clear on how you simulate different government types with religion tags.

They were no different from monarchies in their structure: all were feudal. One could argue that some monarchies developed in time (English type parliamental, Polish type parliamental, absolutist, etc.), but those changes are well enough represented by the DP sliders, I believe.

Hi! As I already said in the discussion concerning the "release" of the source code, I would have prefered this to be a free, true open source project - like for example open transport tycoon. Unfortunately, this is not the case. However from what I have read this will still be close to the best game one could imagine, so I suppose I will most likely buy it.

Having said this, there is in fact one wish I have. Could it be possible to make the effects of an event conditional? This would be particularly useful if you were to script a war. The "armistice" event will trigger once certain criteria are met. Conditional event effects will decide which provinces change control, how much money is paid etc. With the current way events work you'd have to write one event for every possible outcome. Conditional event effect would make this easier.

And.. almost forgot: Possibility to force an enemy to release a vassal in peace negotiations.

Two thumbs up for this project!

I disagree...
There are significant differencies between tribal states like the Horde, Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, primitive Empires in America or in the 18th between centralized monarchy like France with a weak and unwritten constitution (Lois Fondamentales du Royaume, if you mind)and a proto-constitutionnal regime like UK's one. And having the same system of government from 1419 to 1820 does not make sense. I frankly thing that the governement thing is a very good idea of EU3.
Give me EU2 with EU3 regimes, and I remove EU3 from my HDD.

I'm not really sure how governments would be divergent from sliders other than they have "cool" names. I mean, even looking at the effects of eu3 governments, you are simply getting slightly different rules for different nations, many of which you get via cultures/sliders/religions/techgroups.

Well since there seems to be some disagreement considering government types I must suggest a compromise. Since the effects of the dp-sliders is enough to simulate different government types they can stay. And if the sliders move to a certain position you will get a nice little event stating that your country is now a monarchy/republic/bishopric etc. and a text appears in front of the name of your country saying "the republic of" or "the bishopric of" etc. Nothing will change except for your name. Everybody happy now??;)
