1.2 Wishes

With 8000 replies, I assume I am repeating, but if so just add me as a vote to the others.

1. Production - When I click NEED I want the computer to adjust my bar to the need so long as I have IC. If tomorrow I need .02 more consumer goods, go ahead and do it.....

2. Theatres - The ability to define my own Theatres, the computer does not select theatres logically. i.e. as Germany, after the fall of France I ask the computer to redefine, and I end up with 1 theatre stretching from Spain to USSR. Ugh.

3. Unit deployement - The ability to drag new brigades into units listed on the + (unit hierarachy/summary).
If I want to drag it to the Theatr command the comp can assign it.
If I drag it to a corp, the corp ai can assign it.
Down to the Division level, where I've taken the automation out of it.

4. Unit Production - When creating units for theatres its all or nothing. When clicking the THEATRE build button I want a selection screen asking which of the requested items to build for the theater. To include items not requested by the AI. Also the ability to create a build task for Theatres that dont think they need stuff (except I know they will, cause were gonna invade Canada :).

Cool Game Thanks.

I think diplomacy needs overhauling. What's the point of having DI (training diplomats), to send them to said country, then to lose them and have to re-train new diplomats to talk to the same country again? It's stupid.
That's like sending a diplomat to a country, and when he comes back, executing him, and re-training another to take his place. If anything, DI should be eliminated completely (like in HoI2), or, once you establish diplomatic relations with a country it should be permanent (no need to use further DI to contact the same nation again). That would be far more realistic.

"Sir, your diplomat has just returned from Germany".
"Great. Now shoot him, and train another to take his place!"
"Err... yes sir."

My only wish for 1.2 is to get the game working as it should have on release date... I'm not to thrilled to be a beta tester...

Idea Posted by RussianRedShirt...

-The command structure replaced by a graphical "tree" that you could drag-and-drop division to connect them to the various armies and corps.

Best Idea I have sen yet!!!

I'll third this request. The ability to designate, build and modify and entire army, not just the brigades would be invaluable, especially since you have graciously increased the size of the map.

Thank you for a GREAT new experience!!!!

I agree completely. There should be, perhaps, an initially higher cost to start relations with a nation but it should be reduced once relations are already moving along.

For the sake of full disclosure, I'm still struggling to get the game to run and have diplo on AI so I'm no expert on diplomacy right now.

When liberating a puppet like Poland, one should be able to retain the disputed territories, Danzif, Posen and Westprussia all go back to Puppet Poland. Maybe allow Germany to create the General Government.

There is one other feature I miss from HoI2. The ability to gift my allies with money or supplies, whatever, or lend my troops to their aid. Or purchase or trade territories or troops. Why that was axed in HoI3 is beyond me. :(

You can give troops to an ally in this game, and Comintern members can gift resources. I agree about the trading territories thing, though.

The single thing that prevents me from playing is the nightmare that currently is to try to reorganize the command structure. I find the graphical tree+drag&drop request completelly vital.

Also, I would like to be able to assign leaders to a new division/hq even if they're already assigned to another unit; otherwise I have to look which unit he is commanding, then look where that unit is currently, then go to the unit, unassign the leader, go to the original unit, assign him again... another unnecesarily complicated procedure for something that could be very simple.

Fix China!

1) Cores - Nationalist China should have cores on the commies and vice versa. They should both have cores on all of the Chinese minors.

2) Peace - Communist China and NAtionalist China start out in an alliance! THey were at war. Over a quarter of a million troops were guarding that border at all times. But weren't they allied during the war?

3)Events and decisions - There should be an alliance event, but it should be the same event that caused it historically, the Xi'an incident in December of 1936. It should be a random event that triggers in the latter half of 1936 based on the national unity of Nat Chi.

The Marco Polo Bridge incident. Why the F is this an decision given to the Japanese player on January 1st of 1937? It should be in July. Oh but Germany gets to invade poland early... Why can't Japan do the same?

They can but it should be completely random. The Second Sino Japanese war was started by Japanese troops on the ground acting without orders from their superiors, followed by both sides on the ground making a series of unfortunate decisions. This was not a planned invasion. As far as the Japanese foreign office was concerned (i.e. the Diplomacy screen) this was entirely out of their control.

If Japan wants to invade China early they can go right ahead, but they should have to do it through normal diplomatic channels or wait for an "incident" to take advantage of.
