As everyone knows, you need to press <TAB> in order to "chat" in MP-games.

In EU2 that will bring up the "chat-window" with the text-cursor all the way to the left, ie. where the text you type in appears.

In HoI, Vicky & CK (heck, maybe even HoI2) the text-cursor appears one <TAB>-indention to the right of where the text you type in appears in the "chat-window".

Would it be possibe to ask Johan to either clear the keyboard-buffer for the last character typed (the <TAB>) or to add a <backspace> to the keyboard-buffer, so that we can have the text-cursor and the text in sync like it should be (and is in EU2)?

I know it is a minor thing, but it really bugs me as I have to start every sentence I type with a <backspace> :(
Besides, everyone who have played MP in EU2 knows getting text & text-cursor in sync can be done.... :D

This is too big a change to be implemented in a simple patch, and should be considered "CK2 wishlist" material.

;)

How do you know this? What is the source for your information?

Do you work for P'dox or do you know anyone who does since you are able to answer so quickly and so surely?
Or maybe you are one of the beta-team and this has been asked for earlier by the betas but turned down by P'dox for the reason you gave? You probably won't break any NDA if you confirm that as the reason.
Or are you a skilled c++ programmer and "in the know" as such?

You ought to be able to answer yes to at least one of those questions, because if you "shoot down" ideas to improve the game just for the fun of it, you are close to what I would call trolling.

I do agree 100% with your suggestion, I just wrote a light-hearted ironic reply in an attempt at humour (and to express my agreement in what I thought was an apparently ironic way - going to add the smiley that should've been there from the beginning). :)

lol...no, I see the funny side, its just it was SO deadpan that there was no way of knowing that you were joking. Plus, with the sheer number of things that turn out to be CK2-wishlist material, I could well believe that this would be one, and that you were just regurgitating the statement of Paradox. ;)

As King said to me in the OT forum, after I tried something similar..

Deadpan humour does not work over the Internet. ;)

Although i have no idea how paradox does things but considering what is involved it doesn't seem that hard a task to add a clear and position...Although it's extremely minor of a problem and i haven't even been bothered by it in the slighested until you mentioned it.

I certainly did and I'm still in shock from the fact that most people don't, or perhaps they're just smiley-blind?

:)
The smiley was added later.
