A big thank you to all who participated in the contest! It was a great read and a tough task deciding the winners. But after going through the 250+ entries submitted, I have reached a verdict and picked the three winners from the "CONTEST! Europa Universalis IV: Rewrite history - Create an in-game event!"-thread.
All three winning entries managed to combine historical flavor with sandbox gameplay and simple, yet interesting effects. Congratulations to the winners Kibbles, f98alda and labug! We will contact you by PM within a few days to distribute your prizes.

The Four Kings by Kibbles
Trigger:
1. Between 1600 and 1760
2. England knows about Iroquois
3. England and Iroquois is not allied
4. England is monarchy
5. USA doesn't exist
Event Text
A delegation from the Five Nations of the Iroquois has made the arduous oversea journey and arrived in our capital intending to form an alliance with us, and have unintentionally become a sensation. Our commoners wave and cheer as they ride our streets in royal carriages on their way to bearfights, cockfights, wrestling matches, and to our greatest landmarks and attractions. Our nobles compete for the privilege of entertaining these "Four Kings" of the Mohawks. When they went to see the Scottish play, it ended early on account of the audience turning around and watching the Four Kings instead. They cast an imposing figure, much taller than our average man and they wear black breeches, vests, and stockings and over this they all wear scarlet cloaks trimmed with gold. They have dark skin, dark eyes and fantastic tattoos like we've never seen before. They do not speak our tongue, but after an exchange of gifts they had a speech read on their behalf, asking for better relations and help against our common enemies, telling us of their plight and bringing some members of our court to tears. They have made quite an impression.
Option A
Give them a chain of steel representing our unbreakable bond
ENG, IRO alliance
Eng, IRO relations +100
Option B
Give them gifts but make no promises
ENG, IRO relaions +50
Option C

Set-up Penal Colony in COLONYNAMEHERE? by labug
Trigger:
1. Has at least one colony
Event Text
Growth in COLONYNAMEHERE has not been progressing has quickly as we would like, however one of your advisors has come up with a plan to speed up growth. He is proposing that we send thieves, debtors and other criminals to COLONYNAMEHERE and have them pay their debts to society by working to develop COLONYNAMEHERE eventually becoming settlers once their sentence is done. While this plan might seem good on paper there is a chance a rebellion may occur due to having all these dangerous individuals in a single location.
Option A
Sounds good set it up

+5 colonial growth in COLONYNAMEHERE
+3 revolt risk in COLONYNAMEHERE for as long as it’s a colony
Option B

Two other events that were really good but demanded mechanics not supported in the engine were An Unusual Proposal by Druplesnubb and The Hound that bites by No-Flag. I will however look into the possibility of adding the needed mechanics - and if so these events will be added to the game as well.
If you did not win: Do not despair! Your event may still make it into the game as there were so many good contributions
and selecting the winners was really hard. We may still add more of your contributions over time, so be on the lookout!
Thank you all for participating!
Best Regards
Captain Gars, on behalf of the entire EUIV development team
(PS. An extra thanks to Hopper1 for his Ukraine is Game to you?! event. Quoting Seinfeld might not win a contest but it sure made me smile while reading the thread
